Want a Pontiac G3? Apparently neither does anyone else.
Apparently Pontiac has a two-year supply of G3s laying around. They only sold 141 in March. For comparison's sake, Toyota sold 5,888 Yarii. Hell, the mechanical twin, the Chevy Aveo, even sold 2,285.

Yeah, I saw one of these, and I thought to myself, wow. GM really is grasping for straws.

Not very surprising. It's a fugly car, and the company that makes it is in dire straits to say the least.

Honestly, I sat in one at the autoshow and it wasn't that bad on the inside. I drove a first-gen Aveo and it was probably the worst new car I'd ever driven. However, the newer ones are apparently better. However, it beds the question (with an obvious answer), does GM really need two Aveos?
I don't think the Aveo is a horrific car, but two versions? C'mon ...

My only problem with the G3 is that the Aveo already exists. It will be gone from the lineup very soon and the Aveo will just sell 144 more copies a month. Problem solved.

Hmm, this might sound bad but I think I might like to get one of these. As a back-up car for when my Yaris is out of commission. I'd get the iQ when it comes out, but then we'd have 3 in our garage, and that's ridiculous.
Plus, I'd think they'd be hella cheap. Hella hella cheap.

It's not that the G3 is a bad car its just that GM doesn't need both the Aveo and the G3 as the numbers clearly show. Aveo is the cheaper car btw.

The Aveo is certainly cheaper out of the factory, but because the G3's sales are so astronomically low, I'd imagine the dealerships would try giving potential buyers amazing deals and incentives.

I think the G3's start at 15 thousand...If I wanted to spend 15 before taxes I would have bought a XD or Fit or just wait till the Mazda 2(Ford Fiesta) comes out.

LOL, I haven't even seen one on the road yet - I forgot they even existed.

I didn't know they started selling them. I knew they were coming though. I guess since the local Pontiac dealership closed, I don't notice their new cars.

Chevy Nova, Pontiac Ventura, etc, etc. How about the 1990s vintage Chevy Caprice, Cadillac Brougham and the Buick Roadmaster? GM has been doing silly stuff like this for ages. Gene |
