Oil temperatures
After seeing the post by JBIZZ: http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17499 I thought it would be a great idea if those of you who have scanguages would post the min-max oil temps of the oil you are using. This would be valuable information on the efficacy of the cooling and friction reducing ability of brands/types of oil.
I found it interesting that Royal Purple did not reduce the op temp range of JBIZZ's engine. As operating temperature is the key indicator of lubrication, cooling and friction reduction, it makes one wonder how all the other oils compare. What say ye?

The scangauge reads water temperature; not oil temperature. I'm not convinced it can be used to evaluate different oils. Too many variables.

Ah, ok. I thought it read oil temps. I was looking for min/max ranges. Thanks for the heads up on the Scanguage. If anyone has oil temp guages, I'd still be interested in this data.

Wouldn't gas mileage increase be a better indicator of efficiency? If you google, you'll probably find some studies or anecdotal stuff.

I'd like to get more anecdotal data from Yaris drivers who have oil temp guages, and better yet, if they noticed a difference when switching to synthetic oil.
