What tyre pressure?
Hi all,
Just want to know what tyre pressure you's run with 17" 205/40 tyres? At the moment, I'm running 40psi front, 32psi rear..... |

geez... is that really how it should be when you run with low profiles? i thought even at 205/40 you should be running with 30-32psi. please correct me if i'm wrong

What's the tires max recommended COLD psi rating? I would probably take about 6lbs off that number. Like if you have 44 PSI tires, run 38 or 37 PSI...you still want to maintain some pressure incase you were to hit a pot hole or some other road debris. You're probably running a lower profile tire too, so you'll want to protect your rims but let some out to have a smoother ride than max pressure. But remember if you let too much out you'll also wear down the outter edges of the 2 front tires a lot faster due to compression during cornering.
If you switch back to stock tires I would check the PSI rating on the door jam (if there is one...my Yaris is on order yet so I'm not sure), but they give specific PSI pressures for both front and rear for the best wear results for the listed stock tire size.

I run 32 front and 33 rear.I find that when the pressure drops I find the car rides better.

I run what ever the side wall says is the max psi rating. I don't really care for ride comfort and would rather get better mpg's and turn in response.

Depends on the tire and rim width. 30-35psi is generally good.

I run 35 rear and 42 front. Tire wear is good & even and the car sticks very well.
