Half Blood Prince
Hi guys! I started posting less after the high of having a new car passed lol, so you may not remember me. But I am bored and am wondering if any of you fellow forum people are excited for Harry Potter?
Or heck, even if you haven't read the books and aren't a big fan, are you still going to see the movie? Have you liked the past ones? I'm a huge fangirl, if I get any replies from people who enjoy HP I'll share some cool (nerdy) details ;) I've heard this is the best movie so far, and even if you don't follow the books you will enjoy it- it has comedy, romance, and dark drama. Go see it! Its really not as childish as it seems, I heard there's an innuendo regarding broomsticks only adults will get haha. |

^ oh man that is cold!
I love the HP movies, only read the first 3 books, but it doesn't matter, the movies are fun and entertaining!

Actually as someone who's read the books multiple times, the first 3 aren't the greatest IMO. I think the third is good, but the first two... well if I ever try to get someone to read them I always tell the first two are really 'kiddish' but once you get past those you will love the later ones.
I actually own two sets of the books.... the second set I won at a convention- its ten books signed by the author, J.K. Rowling (and most say first edition) - it was amazing, they wanted to give me a guard escort to take the books to my room and told me to buy a safe for my home :P |

I am 53 (and a half) and I will be seeing the film this weekend with my son and daughter (20-somethings) who grew up reading the books. They would go on about "golden snitches," "Diagon Alley" and similar items during dinner, so I read all the books, too, once they had finished reading them...which was generally only two or three days after the book's arrival inthe mail!!
I enjoy how the films are sylistically changing as the series progresses and, even though I've read the books, I do enjoy seeing how the stories are visually interpreted by the filmmakers. Very much looking forward to seeing this one and glad to hear the last book is being split into two films. |

getting ready to see the midnight showing at the local theatre right now(how's THAT for nerdy?)! i'm in my mid-thirtees and both my wife and i are big fans(both the books and movies). we don't dress up like characters or anything too over-the-top like some people out there, but that's partially why i want to go tonight - TO SEE ALL THE FANBOYS!!!!! the last movie wasn't that great in my opinion, but i think it was the book i enjoyed the least anyways. however, the HBP was my favorite book and i've heard the movie was pretty good! i'll let you know my thoughts tomorrow.

I'm 20 and thoroughly enjoyed the books. The movies aren't bad, either.
IDK about you guys, but I'm glad she's posting again. And it could be worse - she could be a twitard.

I never read the books. Saw all the movies but this one. I'll prolly see it at the IMAX this coming week. I like 'em all.

There were quite a bit of people in robes and HP themed clothing at the theater, and a huge line, it was amazing fun. And of course the movie was pretty good IMO! Its so different, I need to see it again to get a better opinion. It was a lot to take to take in, some of it was really dark and dramatic and some of it was really ridiculous/hilarious like the relationship-y stuff. (Ginny getting on her knees in front of Harry to tie his shoe, anyone other than my friends and I think that was creepy???) But ah Snape, I was very satisfied with my Snape love. He is so epic. BTW, any of you fans hear about the Exhibition in Chicago? It opened a while ago, I believe it will be here until November (I think) then travel, but supposedly Chicago will be the only place in this area of the country. I know people who've come across states just to see it. It is worth if if you are a huge fan. It basically has props and models from the movies and its really really awesome to see this things up close. Especially the costumes! Yesterday was the third time I went haha and its always fun to see things again, and see details I missed the first times. |

OK, my friends say don't bother with the IMAX so I went to a regular theater this a.m.. It was very good. I can't tell you much without changing your attitude prior to seeing it. If you're a fan, you have to go. It was only $5 at my matinee so I'd say it was well worth it. It held true to all HP flicks IMHO.
**SPOILISH** I don't like movies that's main purpose seems to be to set you up for the next one. Although this flick had it's "conclusion" it was anti-climactic. If I never saw any other HP films I'd be annoyed at this one for that reason.
