NEED IMMEDIATE HELP: Locked Up With P/S Light
heres the short, i swapped my alt for a ho alt. It fit fine etc but i had to extend the black connector that goes in to the brown port on the alt.
So i did and i popped it in and re-tightened the belt and started the car up. the car turns on fine and the dash lights up but the P/S light comes on and the car wont come out of park, its locked up. also the fan wont come on as well as the a/c

lol I ended up w/ the same problem when going on a accidental fuse blowing rampage about 6 months ago :D. Anyways here is a temporary fix: look at your gear selector assembly between the two front seats. There is a a black tab above the "P" and to the left of the gear selector stick. pry off this tab with either a butter knife, or whatever you can find that wont stratch the cosmetics. now you shold see a button that will allow you to shift gears.(ps don't be like me and improperly secure youre remote turn-on wire, because it will lead to multiple blown fuses :P)

Wow, that's awful.
I'm keeping my car all OEM excluding the TRD axelback. Seems like these cars are REAL sensitive to the slightest changes...

Did you check for blown fuses as mentioned above?
If it's not a fuse, does you HO alt provide the signal feed on the pink wire that goes to the ECM and the AC amplifier? |

Possible problem with the altenator since it is in all actuality a rebuilt. Someone custom rebuilt it for more power. Easy way to check is throw your old one back in and if everything magically works then you know thats the problem. If nothing works still then you blew a fuse. Did you DISCONECT the battery before you removed and installed the altenator? If not you probally blew an important fuse thats causing all your problems.
Otherwise you may have possibly damaged the ecm
