Somebody PLEASE explain
Why people (idiots IMO) will pay asinine amounts over retail to get a new game console.
PS3 w/60G hard drive: $3000+ Wii: $500+ I'm sorry guys, I just don't get it. Sure they'll sell out before xmas, but it's not like in a few months these things won't be available all over the place. xbox360 (new): $300-$600+ depending on how many games bundled. |

Some guys just can't wait. They also want to flash their new consoles around!

60GB PS3 here brought in from japan, couple of days after it was released there, sells for just about $1000...
The console has been in shops for demos in the US, but will start selling to the general public as of today. Keep your eyes on the news for riots and murder in the long queues in front of game shops

Our local Wal Mart is only getting 10, and probably not all in the same shipment. Bust Buy is getting about the same or less, and all the game stores are only getting 5, all of which have been preordered. I think It's hilarious, I guess next week when everyone's sending their PS3's back to Sony with problems (remember the 360 launch?) I'll be laughing that I didn't fork up about 700USD (after taxes) for this beast on the first day... I'll wait a while, I didn't get a PS until about 5 years after they came out, took me 2 years on the PS2... maybe a year for the PS3, we'll see, once they start releasing games for it that I actually want to play.

i dont understand why the Wii is going for over $500; i'm getting mine at midnight (pre-ordered) but i actually want it! however, i'm gonna go to walmart and buy a few more to throw up on ebay - as long as i can make $100+ over retail it is definitely worth the time! I WISH i'd gotten a pre-order for the ps3, that would've been killer profit on ebay, i saw about a dozen go for $7,499 buy-it-now this morning on there. They are going to be extremely scarce, and very expensive on there until next year when they can actually start to meet demand (assuming most people just don't give in a buy a 360/wii for the same price because they just cant wait any longer).

what I meant available...I meant to wait a couple of months, when supply of the units become common & you can buy it with no problem at Costco.. |

Personally I'd wait for Gran Turismo HD.. THEN a PS3 would be worth buying
Still, I got to mess around with one in a shop, it's quite nice... just needs more games....
