Hi Folks,
I bought a 2010 Yaris 2D Hatchback last week. Very happy with it ans the 0% financing they gave me, but the seat is killing me. Anyone else have this problem? What kind of seat cushion did you get? Thanks. I think the Yaris is the smartest car purchase I ever made, except for this. Seems my upper back is out of alignment. I will visit my chiropractor next week and see what he has to say. Paul |

I had that problem until I started sitting flush with the seat and sliding my butt all the way to the seat as well...and one click in recline. For Long trips I use one of those travel pillows too.

I had the opposite experience. I've owned many car seats over my lifetime and been a moderate scoliosis sufferer for most of my life. The cheap-assed seat in my cheap-assed base model Yaris is the _first_ car seat I've ever had that causes me no pain! Go figure.

i usually can't sit in a car seat for more than 2 hours without being obnoxiously uncomfortable. the Yaris, on the other hand, i can got for 5 or 6 before i really NEED to get out. hopefully you can find something out because that is a real bummer. maybe some kind of pillow to sit on or something?

I have that problem... i hate the seats... it hurts my back after a long drive and one person mention before that he felt sleepy after driving in it ... I felt that way too. I always need to rotate my neck and hear those cracks after rotating my head. What I do now is try to keep the seat as upright as possible.. maybe lean it slighty. I use to lean my seats in my cars way back and was fine with it but not in the yaris. Try doing what sloth said and slide ur butt all the way back and keep the chair more upright than usually and see how that does. Try to stretch a lil before jumping in and after you exit your yaris.

Butt all the way to the crack of the seat helps me. They aren't comfortable seats. Worst in any car I have had so far. I wish I could afford aftermarket.

I don't really have a problem even though I suffer from occasional lower back pain. I have used a memory foam lumbar pillow for long rides though and that seems to force better posture.

I was thinking of wedging something in between my seat covers and the seat to act as a lumber support. Besides that, I also thought of looking into one of those massaging things for long road trips. Especially for my bum it always goes numb.

I really like these cheapo/crappy seats. The seats I couldn't stand were the nice leather, power adjustable seats in my Contour SVT, GTO & Mustang GT; they killed my back. About 20 minutes was all I could stand and I never got used to them. The Yaris seats are a 10 by comparison.

I purchased a lumbar support that you actually push part of the product to squeeze air into an "air pocket" for your lower back. Don't know the brand name but a google search will help. It wasn't cheap, around $70 but have used it in all my cars
