advice please!

Can someone pls recommend good speakers for the front? If i am not mistaken the mpunting depth for the fronts cant be more than 2 inches, correct?

I have only found a few 6.5" speakers with that shallow depth.

I really dont want to make spacers and plan on gutting the factory garbage.

Any help would be very appreciative!

I believe 5.25" speakers normally go in the front.
But I see you're looking for 6.5".
Try a search in the In Car Entertainment section, I think there are a few members who have already done that.
frodos = 6.5" Kicker RS
uncleyaris = 6.5" Kaption

Here is a thread you can start reading: Aftermarket speakers

Sedans and HB use 6.5 in speakers in front doors

My advice is some thing like Pioneer TS-G1643R 6.5 in, top-mount depth: 1-5/8"

They go for about $50

LINK

my speakers at the door are 6.5, and 2.5 in top-mount depth. if you cut the OEM speaker and put the new on top of the mount you won't have problems, look at

So, I can use larger depth speakers as long as I use the factory mount and gut the speaker, correct?

Are those hifonics any good? Pretty cool looking but do they sound as good as they look, that is the qusetion:D

I am looking at Focal's new Auditor RIP line as they are decently priced and hopefully carry Focal's great sound quality.

I wish I could afford Focal's high-end stuff but not a chance! lol

I'm using them with my P99 as a 4 way system (Subwoofer, Low, Mid, High) in the Low channel, I treated the doors to function as speaker boxes and so far with my amateur experience is that I have never heard / feel such a good bass coming from a 6.5 drive.

When I read reviews they claim that these little ones hit hard in the lower band, and I can assure you that.

I can't say anything about midrange or high frequencies. And I haven't tested the tweeters, and I'm not going to use them in my install any way.

Sort of funny...

HiFonics with a Carrozzeria. It's like seeing opposite ends of the price spectrum.

I've got some mid bass for you Derick. Too bad you're on the wrong coast. :D

I get this comment all the time with my Yaris, Fancy Wheels, suspension, sound system, deadening materials, HID, etc, many people ask "with all the money invested, why you just didn't buy a better car?" I have a friend that he calls my car "a Baby Lexus"

It all depends how you see it, Yaris is already a good car, I'm sure it could be better, same with the speakers, I put the money where I now it's going to make a big difference! With out the Carrozzeria It wouldn't mater what speakers I buy, it's just not going to happen.

Eventually I'll be upgrading, (and moving to the floor though, I don't like the idea of loosing space for my left foot) I've been looking at the HAT drivers and they are just amazing, that's why I want to get their Legatia L1V2 Tweeter ($210) and some day Legatia L6 but for now I'll work around with what I have.

I still have 2 babies to feed and a wonderful wife.

PS... what mid bass do you have in mind for me?

Derick...

You know there are SO many options I can offer for mid bass. What were you thinking? L6 SE, L6 Pro? You know, I have an extra pair of L1 Pro in silver just sitting in my storage shed...

Drop Scott Buwalda a line to see if he has any "B" Stock mids in the L6 or Clarus line.

I know here in a few months I'll be refabbing my kicks to fit the L8 SE.
