AFE intake issues..

i went to install the AFE intake that arrived today and when i tightened down the mass airflow sensor it wasnt all the way in, it was semi tight but had slight play. i continued to tighten and now the bolts snapped inside the intake, what do i do.....

Did you try going to the dealer or a auto part store for a replacement? When you are screwing down the screws don't tighten up to tight or they'll snap again if you feel some play use some silicone like a small gasket good luck buddy

the threads that came out of the intake we were able to super glue back in. and then we got shorter screws and it fit like it should have with the parts i was supplied. little patience and innovation and its good as new.

I'm going to put in yet another request for shorter screws. hey OP, do you know the length and thread of the replacements you used?

If I have to, I'll provide them myself, this is ridiculous that AFE won't be more responsive.

I bought one of these about 2 years ago. Worked fine and never had problems with the mass air sensor thing.

i think the reason is the screws, and the threads that the screws go into is barely attached to the plastic. Either fasten that screw a better way or make that damn pipe metal or something...
