What FE do you get at different times of the year?
What kind of FE do you get at different times of the year?
I got new tires a little over a year ago - Yokohama Avid V4S's 205/55/15 and run them at ~42 PSI year round. Other than that the car is stock (manual) and I get 40-46 MPG if it's warm out, 33-39 if it's windy out, 32-38 if it's below zero outside, and everything else is random. Lately it's been in the 50s here in MN so I've been able to pull my record tank average of 47 MPG! I also don't really understand how people can get such low FE numbers. This is the car I learned to drive a manual in and my worst tank of all time was 34 MPG. I installed the tach and now with better shift points (~2300 rpm) get 40+ pretty much every time, especially in city trips where there's no air resistance. Anyways since it's been about 6 months since it's been washed, this weekend the car is getting a great wash and wax - I plan to spend about 8 hours on it total. |
