Goodyear Eagle L.S. : were they ever used for the sedan ?

Earlier we had the EAGLE LS from the 2010 3 door put on the 2008 sedan ( winters removed ) and did well on the rain soaked roads . Seem to have low rolling resistance even on wet roads , dry should be better . The front tires are 8/32s and the rear are at 6/32s . Think the EAGLE LS start at 10/32s . They're set at 36 p.s.i.. The 2010 now has the Continental Pro Contact Eco Plus tires .

Yeah, like the LB, about half the sedans were equipped with them. I'm pretty sure of this, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyway, they are actually one of the worse tires you can buy, even though they're actually not that cheap to buy. Compare the ratings and reviews on TireRack. Horrendous ratings. Same thing with the other OEM tire Toyota used.

2 of my goodyear eagel tire got flat w/ no reason 1 lasted me for 8 months and the other 1 just a month after the first 1. I keep inflating it but about few hours flat again so I went to the tire shop and they did'nt find any holes when they soak it in the water, they told me it migth deflate when under pressure from the weight of the car.

that would be about right. Our 08 LB had badyear's on it. lots of sedans do too. the other most common tire is a bridgestone (not any better than goodyear and still not cheap).

almost ANY tire will be an improvement as Toyota likes to put really really crappy tires on stock a lot of times. Older camry's (like 04-06) came with bridgestone potenza RE92 tires that would last MAYBE 20k-25k miles. Thats tough to sell a customer on their relatively new economical car...

My 2008 sedan (in Canada) was equipped with the LS. Scary poor traction on dry pavement. Actually better on wet. Terrifying on 1/8" on snow. All in all they should be banned.

I agree the Eagle LS is AWFUL. I replaced the fronts last week with Pirelli P4 all seasons. Night and day difference especially in the wet.

I will NEVER use Eagle LS tires. They're horrible in the wet and in the dry. Shoot, my generic Lexani tires perform better than those POS tires. I hydroplaned in the rain and understeered like crazy in the dry with the Eagle LS.

Oh, yes, they came stock with my sedan (bought new in '06).

Most likely the Bridgestone RE 92s' . Which aren't any better than the EAGLE LS .

Had the EAGLE LS removed from the '08 sedan and now have the CONTINENTAL Pro Contact Eco Plus . These do very well on rain soaked roads , corner nicely , give a little smoother ride , and are a bit quieter . They were on the 2010 3 door , but traded that in for a HONDA Fit , so had them removed from the 2010 to the 2008 sedan . Did wonders for the 2010 3 door for the time they were on it . Only good thing about the Eagle LS was their low rolling resistance .
