Need help upgrading system.

So i'm fairly new to this whole car thing (http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36013) and I've been bugged ever since I got my Yaris. The stock speakers are just terrible and I can't take it anymore!

I actually ended up putting in a 1,000-watt Active 18" Subwoofer just for the luls to see how much it would rattle it... I then realized i don't want to have any rattle when my system is on all the way. Unlike most of the students in the school I go to they all want as much bass as possible and they just love it when their entire car rattles (that means they have such a "great system").

I beg to differ... I want crisp clean sound with no rattle! Just enough to give me some kick without pissing off the cop next to me at the stop light.

I ended up installing a bazooka bass tube (found it for $40!) and it has been pretty nice running from the stock head unit on my car, so i'm happy with that for now.. What i need to do is upgrade those terrible door and rear speakers!


What should i look for? I'm going to be upgrading the head unit as well but I cant find one I like that is a touch screen. I want to be able to play it loud, but crisp... I don't want distortion when i turn it up to higher volumes.
