Wow, that really sucks. Did the other driver have proper insurance to pay for your damage?

Insurance says it's my fault. I'm fucking devestated. The Wheel has also been impacted. so it's undrivable.

It's going to be a solid month before I get my car back. It's still in the place where it got hit at the moment.

A little rubbing compound and it will buff right out!
Sorry, couldn't resist.

I guess since you pulled out of the parking spot, the insurance company
thinks you should have seen that it was clear to pull out safely, even though
the other guy hit you. Hope things work out quickly for you.

It's 100% your fault, don't pull into traffic without making sure it's clear.

Thanks for that... He smashed into me at speed. I was moving out of the space slowly, and he came out of nowhere.

I don't think I'll ever feel good about driving again after this.... I think it will just become another annoyance. Something I hate to do.....

That's the same side my Yaris got hit on. I think my damage wasn't as bad though.

It looks like mine when it was in the shop.

It is strange that a picture has different rims.
You change them for a photo shoot? ;) ;) ;)

The Alloy Wheel that got hit cracked upon removal, I got some Vitz RS Alloys Second hand and they are almost brand spanking new.

That was very nice of the shop to allow you to come in and take pictures. I love looking at repair pictures....Do you have any more that you can post?

Anyway, I don't understand how you were found to be at fault. Didn't you have right of way?

Ah, thanks, I re-read the original post...."A car smashed into me when I was leaving a parking space." Now it makes sense. Still, it seems to me that the driver of the silver Toyota was an idiot who was not paying attention. I'm guessing he was driving too fast in the parking lot. Looks like the lesson here is watch in all directions when pulling out of a parking space. Because you just can't trust other drivers.
