Shiftknob....?
Just curious if a Manual Transmission Shiftknob will work universally on a Toyota Yaris with an Automatic Transmission? As I wouldn't mind purchasing the Blitz Duracon Shiftknob.

Yea they fit since the Yaris doesn't have that gear selector knob usually found on older model automatic cars. I myself am planning on getting the Sparco Lithium shift knob for my automatic.

I'm pretty sure whether there is an adapter or not a manual shift knob would fit onto the Yaris automatic gear shifter. I've taken my shift knob off my automatic yaris and it looks the same as my TC shift knob (manual). Easy to swap out but only difference is that the automatic knobs look a bit smaller than the manual knobs but that shouldn't matter since you'd be getting an aftermarket one.

The automatic has an 8mm shaft and the manual has a 12mm.

Not always.
If you purchase an OEM manufactured shift knob, it will come with adapters. E.g. OBX shift knobs for Toyota/Scion will come with adapters Other aftermarket shift knobs do not come with adapters, but are fastened by using three screws on the bottom of the shift knob, which "grip" the stick shift. This is how MOMO shift knobs are secured to the stick shift.

Anyone have a clue about Blitz's Shift Knob? As I'd actually really love to pick it up for both the Yaris, and my Civic.

JDM_EK3:
Blitz Shift Knobs come in particular threaded applications for Toyota/Subaru/Honda/etc. The Toyota thread pattern is 12mm (manual transmission).

Adapters compensate for the incorrect thread patterns as they will thread directly onto the shift knob on the inside, while securing the shift knob to the stick shift. Overall this makes for a good fit too. In the past I found that my MOMO shift knob became loose after a few months usage and would require some tightening/retorquing of the screws.

Then I guess I'll take my chances with the Sparco shift knob. Thanks for all the info though

Either way you should be okay.
Try not to tighten the screws too much of it's a universal fitting knob, as it might strip the threads!
