The statement that you can't have "accurate geometry setup" because of the enlargened bolt hole is flawed: who's to say that their collars will place the subframe in the "correct" place?
I also don't buy the "reduced vertical motion" comparison for a second. The only way you'd get that is if the subframe was loose to begin with. The difference in steering feedback can be explained by a beneficial change in alignment... it sounds like the collars in the demo vehicle added some positive caster.

Yeah, I call bullshit too.
Doing bushings like that takes away any chance of correcting manufacturing inaccuracies that could be adjusted out by having the oversized holes. This way, you are stuck with crooked parts. |

It does make sense, but I wouldn't use aluminum inserts. Thicker steel bolts are used on some cars - there is a kit available now for the BRZ/FR-S
