Build Thread Silver Vitz

Hey guys my name is Yoshua I'm from Dallas, TX. I traded in my 2012 Kia Forte Koup SX for this baby on May 7th, 2013 its a 2012 Yaris SE, 4spd Auto (I know what a shame). I already have lots of plans for this, I've always loved hatchbacks I know I finally have one!

Heres a list of my previous owned cars
-2001 Ford Mustang 4.8L V6 (I hated this car, also is what made me HATE domestics)
-1995 Acura Integra RS
-2006 Acura RSX Type S (Totalled)
-2009 Toyota Corolla
-2012 Kia Forte Koup SX

Also got my decals from Sixspeedgrpahix (Check her out if you havent already, high quality, and very good pricing)

I went with the Grey, White, and Teal color scheme because well grey is the color of my car, and I want to get Teal rims.

Heres what the scheme I got in mind

...Or just may get black rims but get teal rotors and pads

Forgot to share my plans:

-Vitz front and rear emblem
-Yakima roof rack
-Chrome delete
-Rain Visors
-Tokico Blue Shocks
-Either Tanabe DF210's or Tein S-Techs
-Maybe Coilovers (if i don't get springs)
-Rims (Preferably Rotas or XXR's)
-EZ Lip
-Axleback (Maybe, I dont really see the point since its a slow car)
-HID's? (Never really liked them, but thinking of giving them a go)

....and much much more (this means I cant think of what else to add at the moment but there is more LOL)

These cars aren't necessarily fast but given a few mods can really surprise people. you are at a disadvantage with the automatic trans.

I personally have an SRI intake, tri-Y header, resonator back with glass packed muffler, and light weight crank pulley.

Non power stuff is two short shifter kits along with a shift extender and H+R springs and rear sway bar.

I can't smoke anything on the road but many people are surprised at how hard it pulls around 5500 rpms.

You also may be interested in the supercharged and turbo guys. they make power.

Interesting color scheme. Surprised you don't get negative attention from that last sticker.

What's wrong with the stig? The auto is actually pretty good and responsive however it is heavier, and if I had my druthers I'd have the manual. A lightweight aluminum crank pulley really helps on the auto, trust me.

Have a custom shop make an axle back for you. Cheaper, and better. I had a $350 TRD JDM version, not nearly as nice looking, sounding, or near the performance of my shop made magnaflow (plus the tip is way better, total cost was about $240.) Find a 1zz throttle body, DC sports header, and a intake. Will sound nice, bump up the acceleration too. Also as a must get a rear sway bar. I went with progressive lowering springs and TRD sportivo shocks. Still have handling and comfort. Unless your hitting the track I've seen enough members on here ditch coil-overs for springs/shocks combo that I wouldn't do coil-overs on a DD. You could also bag it so it looks slammed when you park!

Im really not looking forward to any mods as far as making it faster, maybe just the pulley to make it more responsive but other then that, I plan on working on my suspension.

I didn't mean the stig, I meant the F**k it.

I can respect that you are going a certain route with your car. you just made a comment about these things being slow. They can be but they can also be fast.

suspension is a good one. a good set of springs and the rear swaybar will really help stiffen the thing or are you looking more at the stance.

you can get springs from garm for like $150 and you're down 1.5" I think and they are pretty stiff or so I have heard. I'm not fond of the factory sponge.

Yeah i'm into the whole stance thing, I want to be low but at the same time a want a comfortable suspension, don't know if coilovers are as comfortable as tokico shocks + plus springs??

I did springs and swaybar for performance as the corners are very tight now. I think with coilovers you get even lower than springs but then you run into the whole tucked, camber, rolled fender thing.

That isn't my scene but if it's yours, there are plenty of people that have done that...and bagged that was mentioned above.

Too many speed bumps and crappy roads around my area. Good luck
