dry Rot

Hey all, my mechanic just pointed out that all 4 of my factory goodyears have dry rot. I was under the impression that this only happens to cars that sit often without being driven or old tires. I drive my car daily to work and back, any idea why this would happen? Oh they also have 47500 on them.

What is the date on your factory tires? They might have been pretty old to start with, even on a brand new car.

Look in to the DOT production date. The last for number is going to tell when the tire was made.

They've lasted much longer than most already. Move on to something decent.
