Notchy gearbox selection.

Could this cure or at least improve my shift from 1st to 2nd gear shift? It noticeable in cold weather. I have the 2007 1.5 manual 3 dr lb. Our fellow Yarisers in the UK have done mods to their Yaris which improves shifting. Link above. |

Not sure I like this idea, but I'd have to take a better look at how the gear selector works in the tranny.
I'd try using a high quality synthetic manual tranny fluid first - I'm using Redline's MT-90 gear oil and it made shifting smoother and quicker: http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=46&pcid=7

Thank you my fellow yariser..
I have redline MT 90 and whilst it improves the shift tremendously. It sometimes crunches when it's cold specially when down shifting from 3rd to 2nd to 1st . It's hard to engage. But it's not too bad. I can live with it. |
