Fuel Pump Extraction - Yaris P1
This is actually the second post concerning the same issue - I was a bit hasty yesterday and got nervous, as the first post did not appear for a while - sorry for that!
I have found the very comprehensive repair manuals for later models linked, where the fuel system is specified, including how to get the pump out - but I did not found anything like that for the Mk1 Yaris: is there a manual available somewhere? Johannes Two weeks ago I had a breakdown with the Yaris (from 2000, with 200k miles) I just took over from my father. The problem seems to be fuel starvation, and I want to try a second hand fuel pump for the one still in the car (that buzzes when I connect it to 12V but does not deliver fuel). My problem: I failed to open the 8 screws around the ring on top of the pump. But looking at pictures of a tank without the pump, I ask myself: do I have to open these screws, or is the ring locked in another way? ![]() Does somebody in the forum know how to get out the pump and please tell me?
