Suspension Setup Question

So I have the following setup being put on the car this weekend.

17x7 Buddy Club Racing Rims
205/40/17 Falken Tires
TRD Shocks
TRD Springs
TRD Rear Anti-Sway Bar
Tanabe Front Strut Tower Bar

Any ideas on what I should be expecting? Too stiff? Not enough? Just trying to predict any changes or modifications I should look into. I thought about the C-ONE Front Anti-Sway Bar and underbraces, but I think I'm gonna wait and see how this works out first. Thanks in advance for all tips.

the Sprotivo shocks aren't dampened too high. i have that with the S.Tech's and the Tanabe strut bar. i can feel the bumps and imperfections of the roads, but that shouldn't be the case with the TRD Springs. aren't those progressive? shouldn't they provide a near stock ride over bumps until you start cornering?
but the big difference would probably be the rims. my cousin had 17's or 18's on his SW20 (don't think it was lowered at the time), and i can feel the road on my ass.

but for me, my set up is a little too soft for me, but hope you like yours.

Well, I almost went with coilovers, but decided that I didn't want race stiffness while daily driving. Yeah, the TRD Springs are progressive so they'll get better the harder I push it. The wheels I'm getting are the Buddy Club P1 Racing rims so they should do well. We'll see.

I'd leave the rear sway bar out. Sell it. Your car is going to oversteer with that suspension setup. Find a front sway bar.

That's kind of what I was fearing, but coming from a RWD turbocharged vehicle, I'm a lot better at dealing with oversteer than understeer. Also, the bodyroll has to be dealt with somehow. Am I going about this the right way?

Body roll will for all intents and purposes be eliminated with those shocks and struts. They're pretty stiff, but not so stiff that it makes it impossible to drive them daily. You're right on track man, your shit will rip. Install everything but the bars and drive on it for a few days. Then throw the strut bar on and see how it feels. You may or may not want to try the rear sway bar, but from what I have come to understand about the function of sway bars that particular bar shouldn't provide any benefit over TRD suspension components. You'll want to work on the front.

Thanks Charles, I'll keep that in mind. Seeing as how the rear sway installs and uninstalls in about 10min, I'll do a before and after ride down my local twisties* and let you know.

i just called trdspark..i was bout to buy the sway bar but its only needed for sharp turns etc...

Im installing my TRD spring next tuesday or wednesday.
I ordered a set of headlight also for my bi-xenon retrofit.
I thin kI've spend about 700 bux for these projects/updates.

Will get was thinking of getting tanabe but again, im always on the highway :/

Can't go. I was actually scheduled to leave May 12th, but recent events are keeping me at home until next summer. Which is exactly why I'm splurging on performance parts. lol

i agree. any suggestions for a stiffer FRONT sway bar ?

The only front bar I've seen is the C-ONE bar and it's about $350. That's the only reason I didn't get it. Maybe next paycheck with the TWM shifter.

He definately won't oversteer with the rear bar only. There is so much understeer built into the car the rear bar will bring it closer to being balanced. Adding the front bar will again put in more understeer. For a street car, a rear bar only will be good.

If all you do is drive on the freeway and put around town there is no need to even get any bar at all.

If you drive hard... bring the camber down to -1.8" . I'm doing -1.5" just to save the tyres. It is a great world of difference when fighting understeer. U feel the car being more direct as u ride less on the sidewalls.

I cant wait to see your buddy clubs. I have the replicas and I think they look fantastic. But Mine's in 16".

I find the car not very understeery for a FWD. In fact, the rear seems abit unsettled. There is just too little weight behind.

Ashley, I trust your word but I disagree with this post... could be a miscommunication or it could be that I'm a novice. Help me understand.

When I take a hard, sweeping turn at a high speed, the first thing I lose is always my rear tires. My fronts stay nicely planted. Knowing this, why would it make sense to have a rear sway bar? Wouldn't you want a front sway bar so you're increasing understeer relative to the oversteer already experienced?
