New Battery

Posting it here because it is not a Yari.

My nieces car battery was on the way out, hard time starting now that it has gotten colder. She owns a '99 Chevy Prizm (Corolla). Put a multimeter on it and it was dropping below 7v. when cranking. or barely cranking.

Called around and settled on a Duracell 35 from Sam's Club, 3yr. warranty, 625 CCA and was $103.00 incld. taxes. That would have included them switching them out for you if you want them to do it.

Their refundable core charge is $15. Comparable CCA and warranty from Auto Zone and Advance $135.00.

East Penn Manufacturing that make Deka batteries are producing them.

If you're a AAA member, you can get the battery for $99 with free mobile installation and a 6 year warranty.

Any AAA member?....Or only AAA members who are also Sam's Club Members? (if it is the former, I should probably pay closer attention re my member benefits ) Is the 6 year warranty a full replacement warranty, or replacement for part of that time and then pro-rated?

I left the positive and negative cables connected (same as daily driving) on my '07 and my '14 while away (11-14 to 12-7). My '14 started right up in the wee hours of 12-8 at the Rocket Parking extended lot (a short shuttle ride from IAH). Later (12-10, IIRC) my '07, with the NAPA Legend battery in it, started right up.
