spray stuff is that same as what is on your rocker panels from the factory.... and as for the tint for your windows... $179.99 is what I paid with formula one tint with a lifetime warranty 15% all the way around

Clear Bra
I had clear bra installed on my other car 2 years ago. It was roughly 600 installed by a professional. There's 3M material, but mine was a Roadblocker Stoneguard. The clear bra covers 1/6 of the hood, mirror, headlight and lower bumper and fender. So far it's holding up pretty good. Only one tiny chip on the hood, but with daily driving, it's to be expected.
You can buy the precut material for the yaris (check Ebay or others), and you can try to install it yourself if you are skilled. Basically, you stretch and apply lube to press the clear bra onto the finish. You should probably clay the car first to remove all dirt and smudge. My Yaris doesn't have the clear bra installed. No big rock chips so far. Maybe one or two minor chips on the flat part of the bumper. No biggie! That's driving the whole winter season with ice, salt, grime, dirt, sand and whatever nasty out there. Really, if you want to keep your car in show car condition, then you might want to invest in the clear bra. For most people (IMO 90% + ), they don't give a damn. LOL. Just a quick hint, no rubbing on the clear bra, it will scratch up easy. Be careful if you polish or wax along the edge. It's best to apply blue painter tape to avoid polish residue built up along the edge. Hope all these help ya make your decision Regards |

yuri2002... thanks for the info that's the insight I was phishing for. I've made up my mind... no clear bra for now. $600 is big money and since it ain't perfect ie the rub and scratch... I'll reconsider... infact maybe the ebay junk will do (hey it's only $25)
I think hood chips are dependent on hood angle, my civic's sloped hood was prone to major chips, my Jeep's horizontal hood has like 1 chip in 28K miles. The Yaris is somewhere in between. On my next 600 mile out of state trek I might 'blue tape' a portion of the hood to minimize the chipping. |

Had the 3M complete clear bra quoted in 2 places: one was over $700 for complete with bumpers, hood, side mirrors, headlights... the other was about $600 for the same.
Best ebay price (when I looked) for the same complete set (DIY install) came in at $245 plus shipping - included video and great feedback rating...this may be my course of action...if I screw up the install once and have to buy again it's still cheaper than $600 plus i'd end up with a few extra pieces! Iv'e also been looking into the front-end bra but haven't found a nmatch for the LB yet. Toyota lists it as an accessorie but hasn't made it yet. I'm considering this because I own a Polar White and the black would make it look sharp but I know the clear stuff is better as the bra may scratch if i neglect monthly removal and cleaning... Haven't really considered the cheap ebay clear bras or the spray on stuff... I'd like to hear from those that went this way... Please PM me and give me feedback on the cheap clear bras or spray-on stuff!

Thanks, but my thread was referring to the OUTSIDE of the vehicle. The front-end bra to guard against stone chips scratches,etc...

I put a good coat of wax on my 2007 and put a le bra on it. It fits reasonably well and has kept the front end from getting all the dings from the road. Price on the le bra is about 65 bucks. Just a word of caution, take the bra off once a month and wash and wax under it, it'll keep the car show room new. This is a lot cheaper than the clear bra.

Tinting in Oregon is a rip... you are looking at $250-350. I went up to washington and paid $150 instead, w/ lifetime warranty.

500 bucks for a clear bra? I could repaint my car a couple times for that
And considering I'm at 2.5 years in my yaris, and it only needs a can of touch up and another good waxing, I think I'll pass. |

Best $600.00 I ever spent (guy wanted $650.00) ...hood, fenders, bumper, chin area. We don't use much salt in the winter in OK, we're smart...we like to use sand and rocks. Pathetic. Last 3 cars had so many chips on the hoods and bumpers that the touch up paint only made things look worse. 7 year warranty and no chips on my Yaris;

As far as wax build up goes along the edge of your clear protectors use a pencil eraser. Takes that build up away in a jiffy!
