Build your own throttle body spacer!

hello. i'm in the process of porting a manifold and installing a 1zz throttle body. I do not like the placement of the throttle body and air flow direction so I want to add a throttle body spacer. after doing some searching I can't seem to find anything that I like so i'm making my own.
the main issue I have is that ALL the spacers I find are made from aluminum. that's ok, but aluminum can hold/transfer heat and can be pours if cast poorly. plus they are all in the $80 range.
i'm making mine from a phenolic sheet in L grade. it's a "slab" made from fibers and resign that is pressed and heated to create a very good, heat resistant material. the L is for linen, which is the fiber in this block. it only comes in 12x12 sheets, so I will be using <1/4 of it. if anyone wants a piece, I will send it to you for $12 plus shipping. (it has a thickness of 1/2")
i'm going to cut groves for o rings on both sides and use it as a spacer/o ring block. I will post pictures next week....
