TRD Parts Install Cost
Can anyone give me a time estimate and cost estimate on installing the following parts? TRD shocks, springs, rear and front sway bar.
Can anyone recommend a mechanic in the Alexandria, VA area? Thanks! |

trdsparks
Yeah I got all the stuff from them. They gave me a $450 quote for everything which sounds reasonable but I live 8 hours from them. I found a dealership around me that was reasonable not $450 but reasonable.
I wish I could have put them on myself but I would lose my warranty. The parts are warrantied the same length as my original warranty as long as the dealer installs. I just bought the car a month ago so I want to keep the warranty without any hassles and the parts get a longer warranty too. I'll get coil overs and turbo when the warranty runs out but its trd for now. |

$450 is a great price. Most Toyota dealerships I spoke with said it was 1.5 hours per strut times the shop rate. To me it was worth paying $550 not to do the work myself. I hate changing struts.

if you go to TRDsparks.com there is a colum on the right side that states warrantys...
and i quote Warranty: All Sparks parts are guaranteed for 12 months regardless of mileage from the date of installation on the vehicle or the remainder of any applicable new vehicle warranty, whichever provides greater coverage. Warranty: TRD Sport Parts lnstalled by Dealer TRD Sport Parts are warranted for 12 months or 12,000 miles from the date of installation or for the balance of the new car warranty in force on the date of installation, whichever is greater, when TRD Sport Parts are installed by an authorized Toyota or Scion Dealer. TRD Sport Parts Not Installed by a Dealer TRD Sport Parts installed by anyone other than an authorized Toyota or Scion dealer are warranted for 12 months or 12,000 miles from the date of purchase only and the warranty coverage is limited to the replacement value of the TRD Sport Part.

Find some fellow Yaris members in that area. There are Do it yourself instructions for all these unless you are not mechanically inclined. Check with like a local Big O. Mine quoted me 100 for the front and 100 for the back springs. The rear takes like 10 minutes to do. I would ask some members if the shocks are worth it. I have 37,000 miles on mine with lowering springs and my shocks are still good with no bumpy ride.

Jerkratt is good. His old ride didnt get like that from paying someone else to do it. Its also a learning experience with your car when you do your own stuff.
