I like the button a lot^^ I wish this one was more flush to the bored out center it kinda sits on top of it, but if you go on their site, this is the only horn button they offer.
I did unplug it and corrected it so its 100% centered to the wheel. The steering wheel itself could be better centered but its so easy to remove and correct that ill get to it soon. I freaking love this thing though.

I wouldn't be surprised if the tunershop stuff shows up before BFI haha. Glad you were able to find lips.
Always cruise Vwvoetex for parts, sometimes you can score killer deals on extra parts that may just need some tlc. And its always nice to have some backup parts.
Yeah the TS pieces will be here by Friday and the BFI parts havn't shipped yet. They are a lot closer to me though, so let the race begin lol.
I did acquire some barrels off Vortex and sold my lips on there but I wanted those brand new minty lips. I probably will keep acquiring parts though so I can maybe even build another set lol.
Thanks again for your help man.

Got a bunch of updates this week
1st:
Finally received my beautiful intake mani, will have this installed probably by next week
51329
51330
51331
2nd:
Worked my a** off trying to refinish these bolts myself by hand instead of forking the money over and waiting for a professional.
These looked real bad and were rusted with tons of gunk and grime. After a full day of hitting these 2 or 3 times I think they look awsome
51333
3rd
Finally received my front lips. Got them from Tunershop. Made in Germany, took like 2-3 bus days total shipping time. They are super flossy. I guess they
are actually schmidt lips but will fit my BBS RS
51334
Now waiting for Rotiform to return my centers, Jordan said they should be sent out this coming week. Once they come back the rest of my bolts should be done already and its in to paint and then reassembly begins!!!

Thank you guys more updates hopefully coming this week
So Jordan from rotiform just called me apologizing for the delay, they are really backed up on orders. He also told me that his machinist advised him instead of filling and then redrillling, he can just shave some. Of the.back of the face off and then just redrill. It would save me money and wont compromise the integrity as much but will increase my offset since the center will be thinner and sit slightly further sunken in. So awesome that they are willing to lose money and help me out instead of just taking my money. My final setup will be about 6-7 mm higher but I may just space that out LOL. Should be mailed out back to me by Friday!

Hey Philip,

Omg someone is actually getting something that they ordered from rotiform!
We know 3 people who have been waiting between 2-4 months for wheels, still don't have them and rotiform said they aren't even built, haven't been able to source paets(17' RS faces), or just leaving them hanging. They were all promised their wheels in 4-6 weeks too.
One dude has been waiting 9 weeks for a replacement barrel for a set of wheels he sold along with new wheels he ordered.
Glad you are getting your stuff!
Yea its been a long time. They told me 7-10 bus days. That was early May lol.
This is partly why I sourced out the parts and will do the work myself. I don't need someone to take 2 months to to bolt 4 barrels or lips up lol.

Yea those look fine, lay down some good silicone and you'll be good.
Make sure you use a new tube. Made the mistake of using a older one I had and they all leaked.
I barely scraped the old stuff off of one of dinoegg's and it sealed fine.
ok cool lol, im extremely nervous that im going to get like leaks everywhere
sasquatch
08-12-2013, 04:33 PM
Make sure you seal up where the barrel/face/lip meet on the inside(where it's hidden by the tire) and maybe the inside of the wheel itself a little. You'll be far more likely to get leaks from that not being sealed up well.
Didn't watch it all but this might help:
http://youtu.be/NxCwpc_ex7s
im gonna finish the paint now that ive started that and then ill shave down the mating surfaces one more quick go around, make sure i get any overspray off as well and then ill start mounting them up

Hey phil since your familiar with the fitment and all I'm workin on getting the RPF1's at 16x8 whats the perfect MM that makes the rim flush with the fender? I wanna get some good fit and stretch.
around +30 should fit you flush to the fender, lower than that will give you some poke
So you can get the +38 ones and add 5-10mm spacers up front and like the PG hub spacers in 10 or 13mm in the rear and that should give you spot on fitment.

Don't do any kits man :( Keep it clean!!
Yea I wont be doing any full kits just a front. I've been running just the front lip for a long time but it died. Because of how wide my rears are and because I'm staggered, the car looks too rear oriented to me since its not the hatch. So I don't really like how it looks wwithout the front lip.

From where - there place where you sealed them with silicone?
the bolts. The fronts leak real bad. i actually drove home on the rears and they even read no loss in psi when I got home. Now they read about -2 on the passenger side and -5 on the drivers side about 1 hour after I got home. Now if the silicone was doing its job air wouldnt be able to make its way to the bolt holes so I guess the silicone is the culprit. All the bolts are torqued to spec.

Sucks! You'll have to split it up again and reseal correctly. Maybe this link (http://forum.wheel-whores.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=7249) might help?
Thanks, thats one of the links I used to do it this time. I think I am going to replace the bolts just to be safe. Using old bolts is a hotly debated topic in 3 pc wheels builds lol. When i redo the sealing itself im just going to go slow and steady and be patient, really taking my time and maybe do 3 coats instead of 2.
To satisy those complaining im not mounting them... I tried. These are from my boys shop and then after getting home from his shop. The fronts flattened before I left but the rears looked ok and I drove on them and they still didnt lose any air but then all of a sudden an hour after getting home they started losing all air too so back to stockies. I did get all the tires dismounted and have already broken down two of the wheels again.
Shotty photos but shows some progress

love that jack.. my best friend.
Looks great. The one thing I hate about our cars is that damn battery. Damn thing is bigger than the valve cover. When its time to replace mine or gets to that point where its at its 5 year mark (which ever comes first). I am either going to relocate elsewhere or get something smaller. Either a braile or whatever is the new thing at the time.

Yea man its so not proportionate makes my motor look even smaller and more pathetic lol
Nice jack. I've got the smaller version of that one and it's been going strong for ~4 years now.
And I feel you on the battery. I got one that is actually for a Scion iq when I replaced mine last week. It's thinner than the stock one, but just as wide and tall as before. I would've loved to relocate it or get a tiny one though.
Yea dude that jack is a champ, two full pumps from bar at vertical to bar at max horizontal, and the car is like 3 feet in the air alreaedy lol
Up until recently i was not concerned with how my engine bay looked i was more concerned with having just a few bolt ons for that fun factor. Now i really am concerned with how it looks and am starting to make adjustments but i had just replaced the battery maybe 6-8 months ago and went with a stock replacement so it will be a while before i swap it out again
FML!!!
Last night on the way back from a local meet I merge into the turn lane for my complex and about 50 feet from the turn i see a massive branch. I try to avoid it but this little idiot ricer in a beatup civic decides to speed up from way behind me so he can blow by a stopping Yaris (:iono:) and i cant get out of the way of this damn tree trunk. I decided id rather run it over with a wheel then let it annhilate the undercarriage of my car and have an oil pan smashed in like MrMiles. So clunk clunk clunk i run it over, i dont notice any flat, no damage to the body I can see and no issue with alignment but it was dark. This morning i head out to work and I notice this odd clunking kind of noise as if something is moving around. Its not at any specific time and its not when suspension compresses, not on all turns, not on all shifts, it just happens at random. I cant find anything messed up yet but I did see that there is a piece of tree shard lodged where my LCA connects. I will try to asses more later :(
Maybe the tree branch that's lodged down there is what's making the clunking noise? Maybe once yiu pull it out the noise will stop..? Hopefully! :)

You gonna keep that wheel color?
You mean on the BBS? ^^^
Yes probably until next show season
So its been over a month since I sealed up my wheels and tried mounting them and was disappointed by lots of leaking. I got discouraged and stopped working on them for a while then I had to deal with the onslaught of september/october birthdays in my family. Now im back at it.
This weekened I borrowed ToyotaBuzz's super beastly corded drill and picked up a 3m paint/rust remove polycarb pad. After a few hours here and there and pounds of black dust flying everywhere, I was able to get all the silicone off. Because i had just applied it a few weeks ago and it never got any heat or element exposure like it would being on the car, the silicone was in perfect condition and most tools I have used before would just bend and flex the silicone out of the way and then it would flex or snap back into place lol. Buzz's drill didnt allow that lol.
I then washed all my faces and scrubbed any dirt off, taped off the mounting surfaces and redipped them to get an even sharper finish. Now they are ready to be resealed again. While letting the faces dry and also did the rear emblem to match. Hopefully it wont be long before these are mounted.

Rss look pretty dope, check the leaky wheel between the face and the lip it's a common issue with them. I have the same issue on mine!

RS's are 3 piece so there is a seam between the lip and face and between the face and barrel. I already know thats where the leak is it cant really be anywhere else other than maybe the valve stem but that was checked already. I just hate having to keep mounting tires, finding they leak, taking tires off, resealing them, mounting tires again, and repeating. It's getting annoying and expensive.

I hear ya I'm in the same boat. I just lived with it and filled it up once a week, that is the joys of 3 piece wheels. Just take off the tire one last time and silicone the shit out of the seam and you should be ok. You are running a pretty good stretch but i know Im only running 205/40 on a 17x9:)
Not a toyota but here is my build thread -VW VORTEX - Tylers Corrado Vr6T (http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?5064573-Corrado-O.C.D-Obsessive-Customizing-Disorder&p=68126942&posted=1#post68126942)
Hope you get sorted and I look forward to more updates!
Damnnnn so clean. I love Corrados and those smoothies look awesome on there.
If mine only leaked slow enough that I had to fill them once a week id be ok but currently its once before each commute and then by the time i commute back i have to fill up again.
Im trying to avoid removing/remounting the tire a third time so I spoke to a few modular wheel experts and they recommended me putting a tiny bit of a thread loc/silicone/CA glue combo around the head of the nut to stop the leak. Im in the process of doing that and hopefully I can air up the tire soon. Even if I still have to refill once a week with that id be happy.
My rears yes are 16x10 on a 205/40 but the fronts are 16x9 on 205/40. The leaky one is a front so its the same setup as yours.
So i got a hold of Clifford Paint and Bodykits through their facebook and talked bout getting a hold of the TRD Sportivo3 front end I have been drooling over. I found out since they are not a TRD distributor they actually produce Fiberglass replicas which made me very wary since im so low and fiberglass would most likely be so rigid as soon as i lay it on the ground (which happens often at my height) it would crack.
I decided to do a little research on fiberglass vs ABS and i read quite a few people referencing different qualities and types of fiberglass with varying durability and flexibility. I even found a few posts of people commenting on the production process and materials used in Asia spec fiberglass being more durable and flexible than the domestic versions.
I continued to correspond with Clifford and the owner advised me that his fiberglass is more durable and more flexible than ABS. I thought that may be him pitching his product to me until he sent me these photos.
That does not even look like fiberglass and look how much it flexes. I am almost certain I will be ordering this soon

I Highly Highly HIGHLY recommend after you get this painted. Get it wrapped in that clear 3M wrap. I don't care how much that fiberglass flexes, it will still chip away with any road debris you come across on the highway.
Not only will you save your paint from chips, but its also waxable.
It applies just like that carbon fiber wrap on cars, but its clear. There is a guy here that wrapped his whole car with this in silver. Each body part separately and it looks like a perfect paint job. I was shocked.
here is the website, you can get a free sample to try it out on a small part.

Thanks dude I was gonna text you once I got it for tips to help save it lol. I've seen your posts about fiberglass body parts. But I actually was talking with jpadua and I found the lip in ABS for way cheaper and I placed the order. Waiting for them to get back to me on shipping.

Hell Yea. I have a plan to salvage my front bumper. Its a bit unorthadox, but I think it will be pretty awesome. I just need a machine to bend a sheet of metal the same radius as the center/bottom part of my front bumper.
I wish I went ABS. Would make my life alot easier.
Yea i read of a bunch of different ways people were trying to repair and reinforce FG but rather than get the lip and hope and pray during every commute that it doesnt come in contact with the ground was a long shot. Better to get something that will take a beating better.

Anyone have any idea on the difference in dimensions from the 02-06 vios and the 07+ vios? My rear window/roof visor is turning purple and im actually considering changing it up. I found this style which would be exactly what I want but im afraid the 02-06 rear window might not be the same size and it wont fit my 07.
Anyone know??

can't wait! love ur stance man!!!
Update:
-Lowered the front slightly and I am a few turns away from maxed out now
-Installed 3mm spacers back in the rear
-ordered my front hood bolts so hood spacers should be out this week
-Garm was able to get my front lip ordered so I should have that within a couple weeks
Looking into lowering the rear a little more and going stiffer but I am maxed out on 130mm springs. I am going to try running one collar and removing one but that wont be any stiffer. Removing all collars and the perch means I have a 130mm spring sitting in there alone and that is too low and still will not get me any stiffer.
So in the long run my only true solution is to pickup a new set of rear springs. I can either pickup a spring that is stiif/tall enough that I can run it alone with no collars and perches and it will still be only a few mm lower under load than my current 130mm spring with collars and perches. Or I can pickup an even shorter spring and keep the collars/perches in there. I will still get a stiffer spring but I can keep adjusting height. My only worry with that route is going to such a tiny spring makes me afraid its going to pop out on large bumps.
There is this spring from Swift that is 127mm and 10kg but Im afraid being only 3mm shorter than my current spring and 4kg stiffer, it will actually make me higher than I am now.
Z60-127-100
Z65-127-100
I also found these swift springs but at 102mm tall and 8kg I wonder if these are just going to become projecticles

Call up Eibach. They should be able to make you springs to height and spring rate you want.
Edit: Here's a link to Eibach saying they will. Don't know what their pricing would be though. http://performance-suspension.eibach.com/motorsport/products/custom_spec_race_springs (http://performance-suspension.eibach.com/motorsport/products/custom_spec_race_springs)
Finding the shorter/stiffer spring isnt my problem. I just dont know if I can run springs any shorter or if i am going to have problems with the spring popping out.

I've been running my rears with just the spring, no collar. I've had no issue with it coming out. I've heard it pop in and out of the seat a few times going in steep drives, but it's never come out.
I've been trying to find something about 1.5"-2" shorter though so I can get my adjustability back with the collar.
Are you on coilovers? What size is your rear spring?

Been a long time since any updates...
Ive been trying to save some money for the 2014 BBS rebuild as its running me about $1200
Also picked up a USDM S rear lip so now all I need is the front since I already have my Asia Spec TRD Sportivo sides.
Decided to get some sound improvement so I picked up an amp, custom box, and 2 10" Alpine subs off of ToyotaBuzz who also did my install. I have to say he did an amazing professional job with only high quality wiring/RCA's/Hi-Lo converter
Unfortunately because the BBS are taking so long, I had to replace my stock tires, decided to pick up a set of used Dunlop Direzza Dz101 in 205/50/15 also from Buzz and just had those mounted yesterday. SO STICKYYYYY!!!
Hopefully the BBS come in this week or next and I can have them mounted before May. More new springs going in the front tomorrow and I will bring the car even closer to the Earth. Then its all about the exterior body mods: send the sides and rear in for paint, install them, clear my headlights again, and then I should be set for a little bit (NOT lol)

Yeah dude, I got to ride in Buzz's car at the Autocross event back in March, Love the feel of his car...!! Great driver and a great guy man. I wanted those Dunlops but figured to go with the TRD Sway bar buy instead and now I just need new wheels and tires.
Next Autocross event is in July and August and I plan to put up some solid numbers my last two Novice Class runs before I'm not a Novice anymore. The bracing has helped A LOT but yeah dude I can't wait to see your wheels on and finished. Really gonna be worth it in the long run and I do agree with you wanting to run a cleaner set up, I know it will catch a lot more attention at car shows in particular if you had a few Decals here and there that were torwards your build like a BBS decal would be pretty nice touch, or Brands of stuff you have installed.
It catches the eyes more...Btw I'm gonna try and get a decal made.

What do you think?
gonna be my next Decal along with a Car Fiend banner decal I'm gonna request to show off at the next Autocross event.

You should hit up the Amilia Island autocross in May also. I preregistered for that event. Car looks good Phil.. tasteful improvements
@Hanzo, no I dont want any stickers on it at all anymore lol but I am way more excited than you are I can guarantee that lol
Like I texted you I just picked up another set of BBS this time 1 piece RV in 16x7 +35 in fantastic condition for wicked cheap. Might be refinishing them or flipping them or both not sure.
My spring swap went awesome yesterday and I love the new stiffness. Again more pics to come as the progress continues
