And I would probably post more, but I haven't really done anything to my Yaris. I have been rebuilding a '67 Ford Fairlane. Now I am done with engine and tranny, on to paint and interior! So, when all you guys are talking about exhausts and kits and stuff for your Yaris... I really have no firsthand knowledge to throw in! |

there is a 60's fiairlane by my house that is getting destroyed by pine trees. i want to rescue it.
the other day though while walking the dog i noticed they finally moved it away from the pines. its in the middle of the yard near the road. i wonder if they are going to sell it. its a 4 door soft top in maroon

Very nice!
Mine is a '67 Fairlane 500. 4dr hardtop. I have taken the original 289 and bored it .040 over and stroked it (yes! You can actually get a Stroker crank and set up for a 289! I was shocked when I found that!). Coverted it from an automatic to a manual (4 on the floor). Edelbrock intake, hooker headers... oh it's a beast! In fact, I call it 'The Beast' Not sure about original color, is painted deep 'twinkly' blue, but it is oxidizing under the clear coat. I think I want to paint it flat black, with a deep forest green on the scoop. Lol backwards from normal. Whaddya think? I'm not on my home computer, but when I get home, I'll throw up a pic for you. I also am a crew member for an AA/FA (Fuel Altered). We generally run 5.50 second passes on the 1/4 mile (i'll throw up a pic of that tonight as well). Lol I guess I am not your typical girl |

thats pretty sweet. you got me beat in the car knowledge dept. i can change oil and do body work projects.. anything else i gotta google before i try it. I have found anything i can take apart i can get back together.. i found that out working with gopeds a few years back.. they were fun little projects.
i'd love to get a car to restore.. but havent the funds.. have plenty of time though :)

Very nice. And hey, everyone still needs to look stuff up! I would never have found this site if I hadn't been trying to install fog lamps. I needed to punch through the firewall to run a wire. Haha no clue where to punch through! So I poked around here for a bit and found what I needed to know.
Basically, it's all trial and error. First couple times out with the team, I asked about a million questions. I bet all the guys on the team were standing around thinking 'Great, a dumb blonde'. And I suggest picking up a little project car. It takes more time than money (usually). And I know pretty much zippo when it comes to body work and painting and all that... so I'll prolly hit you up when it's time to tackle that on my Ford!!! |
