Offsets
Okay, so I'm looking into buying a Yaris liftback. I've got a set of 16x7 wheels with a +35 offset. I plan on lowering, too. Will this rub?
Are there any guidelines as far as wheel offests go for the Yaris? I thought I read you want something greater than +38. Any truth to this?

Congrats on deciding to purchase a Yaris! I have to ask, did my appearance at the June 2nd Scion cruise help in the deciding factor? Sorry though about offset, not sure what and what isn't ok.

+40 or more is your best bet, how low do you want to go?
what tires are you wanting to run? probably with 195/40/16 you wo'nt have any worries but then again +35 is going to poke abit and this has been a topic of discussion in recent days nothing wrong with a little rubbing, you can always roll your fenders too and maybe some neg. camber

Hi!
|
I'm running 40 offset on 15" wheels and 205-50's on about a 2.5" drop and I get light rubbing under severe driving conditions. for a 16" or 17" wheel, i would suggest an even milder offset, closer to mid-40's depending on the tire profile.

I'll consider rolling my fenders too but I don't think it is crucial with 205/50/15, I'm not too worried about minor rub

sorry about that, largeorangefront is his user name, I butchered that one and I don't think that was the first time I called him that, ha ha
if you roll and pull these fenders you will be fine, it's up to you if you want to do that much modifying or just go with a safer offset really

have you thought about adding camber bolts, someone was talking about doing this and I think it may work since them rubbing is on the outer, I actually think visually neg. camber looks cool, I'm still doing some research

After doing some more research, it appears the OEM offset is +45, so I can see why my 16" rimd with +35 on 205/50/16 would rub. However, a 16x7 +45 would probably be okay with a 205/50/16, right or would I still have rubbing issues?

with a full 2 inch drop you may have some rubbing but I think you should be pretty much ok, best if you went say 195/45/16 or so, talk to some guys with lowered cars on 16 wheels, I believe largeorangefront is 1.7 drop with +40 and 205/50/16 and walter was running 16's with little sidewall and more than a two inch drop

OEM with 15x5.5 is +38 not +45
