Don't leave over this. Maybe check with the mods to see if dealing with your sales through PM would be better than posting direct links to MI (which I'm only assuming you did as I never saw the for sale post.)

@Ray: I hope you don't leave YW over this.

The threads were not removed, they are just invisible for now.

We're trying to set up some guidelines to see if we can allow personal non-profit sales, but for now we need to disallow all non-vendors until we can figure something out.

Sorry about that buddy.

What's going on?

Oh, OK. those threads. Yeah, just like TK said.

We had some "sale" thread reported earlier today and usually when people report stuff (non-registered vendor sale or whatever) we make the thread or the post invisible right away until the other mods are around and we can come up with a plan together.

So hang in there!

since when were we not allowed to sell personal items to other members? unless you mean non-car related items? :(

Personal items are fine. Selling more than one is also fine, as long as you're willing to contribute a portion of the profit to the site.

Otherwise there wouldn't really be a point in becoming an official vendor.

Okay so why are the Yaris gauge and the mesh vent threads still up and running oh and the Eyelid thread and those are just for starters,
you want to close and delete threads play fair .
Or is it becuase 1 or 2 Mods might have an interest in those items .

Reported today as what a spammer , so if my thread was reported for what ever reason , where is was the curitous approach from mods to ask me about it , i would also like to know who reported my threads .
then next time they ask for help they too can go jump .

they are in my possesion so they are personal NO .
and the only reason i put them up here for sale was i thought some people might like a bargin considering 2 sets i was selling for less than what i paid
and the 3 new sets where samples sent to me to do and develop , test
and produce instructions for direct plug and play options

This is a good discussion now that it has started, interesting to me as the only member paying to be here and sell stuff.

I also know that the Mods are not in charge of vendor pricing or even the making the rules, ultimately. You should be.

I think the policy has been very clear.
Personal items, ok.
Used items, ok.
Non-profit, ok.
Make money on a new product, become a vendor.
Specific Group Buys on new products to get a discount for members, ok.
Where is the confusion in the existing policy?

I've never, ever read that on this site before. Can you point to a post or a published forum guideline about this policy?

I have to say he has a really good point. What is the answer?

The worst offenders (IMO) are the ones who are either new members or members who simply don't help out around here, but openly sell stuff (especially when there is a link to a page off this site).

The LEAST of our worries, as a community, are people like Ray who are extremely helpful and add rich content to the site. Remember, the site AND the content is owned by someone who benefits from the content every member adds.

Micro Image forums, online store and shop are now closed. It was a great eight year run, but it was time to focus on other things. I'm still selling parts on eBay under micro*image seller ID and customers can still make requests for anything specific.

I am on Ray's side because through him, members in my area and on the forums have been expanded to greater heights. Gideon has bought RARE stuff from him and so have many other members on here and MicroImage.
I also agree why tk can have his eyelids thread and whatnot, but Ray cannot~ Makes absolute zero sense to me...

If this continues, I'm pretty much going solid on MicroImage forums as well....and the rest of the people who I have bought rare priced items from, will be given word to follow a better car community place than this.

I occasionally buy things from members here and if members can no longer sell personal stuff car related or not, I might as well be gone from here too~

Adding to Garm's comment "the worst offenders"...(and i don't like to bag or point fingers out to certain people, but this thread has made it seem like its my turn to do so) people like 1slowyaris...I dont know why the date of his post says yesterday..but that FS thread has been there for A WHILE~ he deleted them i guess and posted back again....all his posts are in the 4Sale thread...do we know if he even owns a Yaris? No contribution to the site by posts on other sections~

People like THAT...need to have threads removed and given some notice to contribute to the site...

As I said before, Ray, I am NOT out to get anyone, especially people who are valuable to the community as a whole.

The ONLY reason we are TEMPORARILY closing GB threads is so we can determine which threads are OK and which ones aren't.

Your thread will be back up soon, so just please be patient.

The eyelids thread is up because it's not a sales thread. It is a thread for showing off cars with eyelids on them.

The Yaris Gauge and mesh vent threads are up because they are FEELER threads. No actual sales have actually happened on those threads (yet).

Please read what has been posted about personal sales so far. I never said personal sales are at risk.

I may have explained it incorrectly. Here it goes again:

1) Selling personal items is OK
2) Selling items for profit is OK, but you need to be an official vendor

This site currently only has 1 Vendor for a reason , becuase
like most of us here he beleaves it's a great site .
But lets be realistic , the fee charged to be a vendor
would require $7000.+ of product a month to be sold for it to pay for itself.
Thats working on the $$$ you told me i would need to pay
to sell to work with MI and sell there Product.

i dont really care that the thread for the OEM fog Light kits has been pulled , as it will be up and running under a Mi Vendor thread in a couple of weeks , the whole idea was to get the 3 sample kits out there ,
so people could see that there is now a OEM Quality kit , worth buying
for under $99.US and that MI has worked bloody hard to get it .

And as some will know i have put money and a lot of time into this site
thats why i send out Yarisworld Cards to people who have bought stuff from me .
