Moderators Overmoderating?
Regarding this thread VOLK replica rims for sale.
Why was my post deleted? All I asked was what brand the wheels were instead of just posting "replicas". The moderator who deleted my post is abusing his/her power. |

+1 on the glitch ^ I don't think a mod did that because there is no track of posts being deleted by anyone of us. Usually if a mod deletes a post, you can see something was delted.
BTW that happened to me too a couple of weeks ago. You know there are hundreds of entries any given day, so who knows. |

Rather than accuse us, why not send us a PM with questions? Would be a lot more helpful. Must be a glitch because none of us can see that your post was deleted.

I'm sure it wasn't a glitch because PETERPOOP's posts were deleted, too. His may not have been thread related, but why include mine?

We didn't delete your posts. And not being a mod or admin you CAN'T be sure, only we can, and there are no deleted posts in that thread. We can see deleted posts and threads just fine, with the ability to restore the posts. We can assure you that none of us have deleted your or anyone elses posts in the thread. Glitches happen, and they've happened to me as well. Again just PM one of us if you have questions. Degrading the mods isn't the solution.

*sniff sniff* What's that stench? Smells like caveatipse...
Definitely doesn't sound like a mod's work

Sorry, but someone definitely deleted the posts. Peterpoop was being an ass in the thread, btw. My recollection is that yarisugi also said something about the OP posting up replicas; I know it wasn't just a question. Claiming "computer glitch" doesn't serve those whose posts disappeared. Maybe Bueller was on for a bit and did some cleaning up, or another Mod that hasn't chimed in yet. Maybe this should be kept open until you know more. with all of that said, OP you should PM a mod before committing to an open thread. Mods, you responded on the thread, so here we are.

Garm, no problem keeping the thread open, but I doubt if we'll ever get to the bottom of this.
As a matter of policy we don't hard-delete anything, except when the user expressly requests it *cough*, but those cases are extremely rare, and even then, we have to fill out a box saying why we're doing it. Just don't let this thread turn into a mod-bashing fest PS (I doubt "Caveatipse" has anything to do with that either) |

I don't hard delete spam either. I think that kind of maintenance is done on a regular basis anyway because the threads disappear on their own after a while.
OK, here goes: mods, if anyone is hard-deleting anything, please don't do it anymore. |

OK, I just sent the same message to all the mods privately about hard deleting posts, so now we'll see if someone reacts.

I've been noticing a few "inconsistencies" here and there lately. I'm not sure what's going on. We mods never hard-delete. It's always more useful to leave proof that there was something wrong with that post in the first place, or in case mods make a genuine mistake and need to restore the post.
In this case, I see no soft-deleted posts. Either someone hard-deleted it (unlikely, but possible), or there was a computer glitch. I apologize on behalf of the mods if the former is the case.

Yes, it wasn't just a question, but what I asked and said was "what is the brand of the wheel, instead of posting replica". For potential buyers, it's good for the buyer to know that the wheel is a replica and not the real thing, but it also helps to post the real brand to avoid potential buyers asking more questions and prevents anyone from being misled. Thanks for your recollection cali yaris. I'm glad someone remembered. I wanted to know the brand of wheel myself, but that post got deleted. I know it wasn't a glitch. Thanks camell. I'm not the only one :) I'm not trying to start a "me against them" war, just want the mods to be consistent and fair.
