Talking *MAD DOG*'S Outta here...

Well sort of. I read yesterdays newspaper at work this morning and in the cars section I saw something that made my eyes do this

I've been thinking about upgrading cars for a while now and what I saw pushed me over the edge.

This Toyota dealer had 4 demo 2011 Toyota Hybrid Camry's for sale. None had been driven. They were advertised as $29,888 drive away

I commute 52km a day to get home and back from work and the road noise in my 2007 Yaris Yrx was getting to me.

I test drove the Hybrid Camry this afternoon and it was really quiet, even at freeway speeds.

Toyota have been advertising the Hybrid Camry here for $41,000 drive away, so at $29,888 I got my arse down to a dealership (4 Doors down from work) and test drove it on my meal break.

I look like picking the car up within the next 4 days. As for YarisWorld, i'd like to thank each and every one of you for helping me and others in both Yaris related questions and in real life situations.

I intend on staying on here cause most of you i'd miss if I left. Aaaaawwwwww.

I'd love to upload the only pic I have of my new car, but alas my isp is really shitty atm. It feels like i'm back on dial up speed.

Anyway when I get my car, i'll be sure to post some pics up in this thread. As we all know

I also got fixed priced servicing at $130 a service for the first 6 services

Thank you for your support. All of you.

p.s. While it's an end of an era for me, I look forward to getting 1000km a tank

Thomas,

Yup a little sad to see the red YRX go Been a good car to me. 76,000km so far. I know someone else will enjoy it as much as I did. After all it still has the NST lite crank pulley and cruise control installed on it

Laz,

I saw your like on my fb wall. At the price I got I consider it a steal too.

Sad to see you leave the yaris, but happy to see you keeping it in the family. At that price difference I don't blame you for wanting to switch over, and get a bigger, quieter more economical ride. Definitely post up those pics, and let the modding begin!

Maybe some tint, mats, weather shields on driver and passenger windows.

IMO i'd would've stayed with the yaris
hybrids are ok if your leasing or if you will plan to trade for newer model before warranty expires
trust me you think you'll be saving money but jus wait when the HV battery craps out and no warranty easy 5k to replace

Toyota Australia have replaced 3 hybrid batteries since hybrids were released here. My one comes with an 8 year battery warranty. I turn my cars over on average 4-5 years. I'll be fine.

Congrats!!!

My other car is a (non-hybrid) Camry. I've got about 12,000 miles on it now and I love it!

Waiting to see pics of your new ride.

What about some Enkei RPF1's? I think they would look nice if you don't want to go the VIP-style route, and they should be lighter than the factory wheels, meaning even better gas mileage!

I dunno what it is, but I tend to stick to stock rims, unless they are fugly. I don't even remember what they look like at this stage. For me, upgrading your own rims makes your car look more appealing. But I'm never going to admire my own cars looks whilst driving it, it's a bit hard to see your own rims rolling while your driving.

lol. One way you can admire them is for the functionality while driving, like I said, lighter/smaller rims will lead to better performance and gas mileage (may not always be the best looking rims tho). That should help prolong the electric motors too.

Actually, I forget what the stock rims look like on the Camry Hybrid. I know the car itself looks rather sporty.

I'll just have to wait and see the pics. Make sure you give it a nice detail job to really bring out the paint's color ;)
