It was time to get myself a new work beater commuter car. Looked at other Toyota's, but just couldn't resist the '11 Sonata SE.
Between city and highway combined, I'm seeing 35MPG. The Yaris will stay in the family though, as we gave it to my mother in law. I wanted to raise it back up and remove the mods, but she insisted they stay on!

i actually like the look of the new Sonata's. i saw a black one in a parking lot the other day and was quite impressed.
haha your mother in law (like the rest of us) knows the Yaris is more fun with the mods

Nice looking Sonata. haha, should have gotten the Genesis coupe (but pretty sure you want more mpg than hp).

Looks good! Especially in SE trim.
Hyundai is doing some pretty impressive things lately. And this is no doubt a very well built car. |

I've always thought of a 4-door sedan as a family car rather than a commuter, but congratulations on your purchase! I hope you were able to pay cash for both vehicles so that you haven't walked from one car loan into another, though.
The Sonata seems to be a well built car. I had one for a few days once as a rental (they "upgraded" me from the much more efficient Accent; gee, thanks, guys) and was quickly impressed by it. I honestly never expected Hyundai to amount to much but they have been doing well lately.

Never felt the Yaris was safe enough to pack the kids inside, I no longer have that worry. Although I've always felt it tacky to ask if a person bought their car cash, to answer your question, yes on both. |
