Introduction

Hi everybody,

I just joined this forum and I think it is great. I obviously drive a Toyota Yaris, which I find a great car, perfect for driving in the city. My Yaris is from 2008 and it has a 1,3 VVT-I engine with 86 HP. (Wish it was just a bit more powerful :P)
I really like the car, but there's one thing i hate. I don't have MP3 support in my car. The CD player only plays normal audio CD-s, which is a quite pain in the ass when you want to add more music. I tried to use the FM transmitter which you stick instead of the car lighter, but the sound quality is lame, and i hate it. I was wondering if you have any suggestions forum? I searched on the net a bit, and there is an all-in-one product that includes DVD, navigation, etc. I think you all heard about it, it's eonon. Do you have any experience with it, is it safe, and is it worth it? The main question is whether is it compatibile with my car. I'm from Bosnia and Herzegovina, but i don't know where the car was made...
I actually want to install a few new things to the car, like headlights, maybe spoiler etc. but i'll ask about it in the proper forum board...

Here are some pics of my car, hope you like it...

It looks alright, but the price always scared me. They sell 7 inch DVD/CD all in one units for about half what every well known reputable retailer sells them for. I know electronics pricing is a sticky situation, but I think if Eonon was that legit some of the other prices would start coming down. Do they offer any warranty?

That and the only thing I've heard about them is they've sent spam bots who start threads asking seemingly innocent questions, and then within the first 5 posts there's always a link to eonon products. I think you're real, at least you don't have google analytics tracking in your url....

Other than that, I'm pretty sure the units work and are compatible with the yaris, at least one person has installed an eonon unit on this forum

actually, i don't know anything about eonon, or botz xD
I'm just trying to find a perfect solution for a decent amount of money, i don't even want DVD or navigation, just MP3 compatibility with audio quality same as on my stock cd player i have now. this eonon just came up as an interesting all in one product.

nice choice of car , and Welcome to Yarisworld
if you want morepower from your little 1.3 , try the AFE intake
And the NST 10% underdrive pulley with the lite weight alt and water
pump pulley's.(these where made for the 1NZ-FE but are a direct fit on the 2NZ-FE)
That's want i did and it made a big differance .
As for your sterio problems , anything is do able depends on your budget.

Check out the following thread for details on the parts required to change your radio to a standard aftermarket one:

http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...12&postcount=2

This one has some more info. A person from Turkey was looking for a set. I grabbed a set for him, but he never got back to me about purchasing them, so they are still available:

Thanks for links, they're really helpful. I think I'll go to my Toyota dealer to ask them for advice, or maybe buy the official Yaris CD player that supports MP3, because if I buy aftermarket stereo, it'll get stolen the minute after I get out of the car, and rly don't want to bring it with me everyplace I go...

@ tomato:
i've seen some other yaris photos and most of them have other consoles, probably because my yaro is european...

Understood - OEM look means less likely for someone to walk away with.

The Eonon one would fit your existing dash without replacing any of the plastic parts. The Eonons get mixed reviews, but would definitely offer more features than your current radio can do. I would suspect that it would be a bit less expensive than what your dealer will charge for the OEM MP3 one.

The pinout for the D10 and D11 connectors on the European wiring diagrams is the same as for the US ones, so the Eonon should be plug an play for you. It doesn't have an input for the steering wheel controls, so if your car happens to have them, they wouldn't function for the Eonon.
