Stupidest or most embarrassing thing you did lately?

OK, I'll go first.

Usually, when we have clients come over, we get snacks and sandwiches from the caterers and put them in the meeting room for them. Since it's pretty good stuff, whatever is left over untouched goes to the break room after they leave and anyone is welcome to have it. Some of the food ends up in the fridge rather than on the table because it would spoil if left unrefrigerated for hours.

So, a couple of weeks ago, I get the email "meeting's over, left-over stuff available" . I show up, open the fridge and see a bowl with some fruit salad that looks really inviting. So I help myself generously since I was kind of hungry. In fact, I ate almost all of it and it was pretty good.

The following day, I see one of my co-workers picking up that same bowl and standing in front of the fridge scratching her head like something's wrong... it occurred to me, I had eaten her lunch!! Oooops

OK all yours ! (keep it clean, uh? )

I mentioned this in another thread but it belongs here, too.

While on a nice, lazy bicycle ride on a paved path last Sunday, and while riding my full suspension mountain bike (because my wife was on the hybrid bike), I managed to hook my rear tire on a railroad track. I was clipped in to the pedals and as I lost all forward progress and pumped hard to try to power out of it all I managed was to power myself right into the ground. I did this right in front of a park full of people and got so twisted up on the ground that I had to unclip my left foot with my hands to start the process of getting back up.

Similar story about my first mountain bike with pedal clips. I clipped in my new shoes, pedalled out the back of the store to their parking lot and realized I never learned how to unclip. A car approached so I slowed to a completed stop and then just flopped over bike and hall onto the blacktop. I had to lay there until the bicycle store people ran over and show me how to unclip my feet.

I called mikenacarato "dear" thinking I was talking to someone else. Then he asked why I called him dear and I thought it was the girl telling me not to call her dear and then I was embarrassed, and then I realized it was Mike and I was REALLY embarassed. LOL good times.

The other day I was at a small music store looking at CDs. The owner was protectively eye-balling me because his daughter (assuming) was standing behind me looking at the opposite shelf, which I wasn't aware of. I take a step back and stumble on her heel. Instinctively I reach back to break my fall just to end up grabbing a handful of ass (a nice tight one too). I was pretty sure everyone there saw it. Even though I sincerely apologized to her and she thought nothing of it, the owner looked uber-pissed. It was time to high-tail it outta there and never come back...

After the New England meet was scheduled, I didn't bother to check the thread again. So... on the 19th of April, I show up at Shopper's World expecting to see a whole raft of Yarii there. Nada. Zip!
So I go over to kid #3's new apartment, not too far away, where I had said I would go afterwards to check it out, have lunch with her and go home. Check thread - it was changed to the 26th!
Yes, I went the next weekend (it's only 1.5 hrs to get there) as well. The security guy who was helping me find Yarii on the 19th had the good grace NOT to drive and make fun of me, just waved and grinned.....

thinking i was alone in the bathroom, i texted a friend something funny that had happened earlier. a few seconds later, i heard chuckling coming from a few stalls down and thought it was him, so i said, "you liked that, didn't you?" and laughed a little. in a middle eastern accent, the other guy replied, "what? who, me?" i hurried out as fast as i could.
