The fact that it's the exact opposite of aerodynamic doesn't help much around here either (too much wind resistance). Other than that it's been a real work horse that's a lot of fun to take up into the mountains.
I believe you.

But if you type up "Jeep Grand Cherokee recalls" you'll see a recall for almost every year. Back in the early 80's, that model was really not the best. Fun to drive off road, for sure, but the constant repairs, damn. Maybe we had a lemon, I don't know, or maybe it was a bad year. Like I said, I can't speak for the current models, and of course, I wasn't trying to put your car down

By the way, the Wrangler is a different model, no? I was talking about the Cherokee. They had a few recalls on those.

even if the price/mpg was the same, i wouldn't buy one cause it's not my style of vehicle and parking would be a bitch...i'm worried about people door dinging me now and i've usually got more than 3 feet from cars next to me with the yaris but, there is something to be said about the various applications that a hummer lends itself to...can't pull a boat with a yaris, can't go off roading with a yaris, etc...

There were multiple models. Wrangler is completely different from the Chereokee. The Grand Chereokee is different from the Chereokee. The regular Chereokee had issues. But the Grands usually held up better. The one I drove was a 1995. Early 2000s they changed their whole lineup so that now you have the Wrangler (including the new 4-door version), Liberty, Patriot, Compass, Grand Cherekee, and the Commander (in roughly their size orientation, smallest to largest). Yeah, I know, looks like I know a lot about the Jeeps, which I do. Always have been a fan. Hell, I learned to drive stick on a 87 Wrangler. I've driven a Wrangler, Cherekee (which was replaced by the Liberty), Grand Chereokee, and took a Patriot for a test drive at one point.

I haven't found there to be too many issues with them overall. Sure there have been recalls on them, happens with a lot of car companies. But it's usually for minor stupid stuff.

But anywho, that's my take on the Jeeps. I'm a fan of them, I just don't like their price tag right now nor their lack of fuel efficiency.

I've owned and loved a big old 1972 Chevy Blazer and 1983 Dodge Ramcharger, but I've never admired or wanted a Hummer.

Yeah, I just googled it. I know exactly what you're talking about now. Definitely a different model. The Wrangler is a cool car, always wanted to drive one, to be honest.

still no on the Hummer, though

That would be a no from me, too. It's ugly, too damn big, reeks of "I'm a man and and I drive manly things, but don't look at my tiny penis", and is absolutely pointless if you don't live in the rugged wilderness...

I would buy a Hummer with the mileage of a Prius only if it could time travel while curing cancer, end global warming and reconcile the Arabs and Jews.

Otherwise it's a Yaris for me!

I would, just because the roads around here are SO bad you basically need one of these to prevent any damage to your vehicle.

Hummers are too big for my taste. The first vehicle I had when I was 16 was a full-size minivan and I freaking hated parking that thing (especially in reverse). I don't imagine that the visibility out the rear of the hummers is very good and I know that they are too wide and long for me to enjoy driving. My Ranger was a bit longer than I would have liked, but I love the Yaris!
