I was flipping the radio dial early this afternon and happened upon a local car maintenance show in the middle of a call. I didn't hear what type of car it was or what was wrong (that came before I tuned in). I did hear that she had purchased the car used with 69k miles on it (which they later said was very low for that car for that model year). One of the hosts asked if the car had been sitting outside for a long time. She said it had. The most experienced host said the air filter may need to be changed. He said (in the thickest local accent you can imagine) if that doesn't work then the impediment might be "a varmint's nest"

. I just about fell over laughing. So authentically himself...and knows his stuff. I truly love this state

. This little slice of life reminded me that I decided a couple of weeks ago to (in the near future) change the air filter in my Yaris. I stopped by Fred Haas Toyota later in the day (filter was under $22 including tax...same price as the last one, IIRC). So.....
at 277,668 miles ---- Installed new air filter (cost to install = zero....I didn't charge myself
