=O I change my air filter + cabin air filter every year! I could probably change my cabin air filter later, but I just don't want any smells in my air.

Expect 100,000 miles with zero problems. 200,000 miles with just a few repairs. And a few other maintenance items through 300,000.

Yes, Thank you - It still amazes me in regards to the mileage some people here have put on their Yaris' . Just had the 2nd freebie oil change yesterday morning at 6,524 miles, 1 year & 1 day since delivery. Was driving home and noticed the little next oil change due sticky, 11,524...It actually startled me (don't laugh at me Nook, I'm tellin' ya, DON'T laugh!) Oh yeah I'm thinking, 5,000 miles or 6 months....I'll have 11,500 on the ODO in a few years!
I am just so happy with this 'Lil Car, it makes complete sense to own.

I agree. I'm amazed that our little model doesn't have a wider following it the United States.

Toyota has been famous for this. We actually just buy filters for HVAC units for homes and cut them to fit, tape the cut edges, and install. Saves a lot of cash because you can get 4 filters out of 1. Plus you can get higher levels of filtration.

2011, 3dr hatch, 5-speed, 106k miles.

A/C fan is a little louder and the cup holders buzz a tiny bit if they are open but no drinks in them.

Have done nothing but changed oil (Castrol GTX) every 3k then 4k miles, replaced air filter once, and 1 set of tires which need to be replaced soon.

This is only my second FWD car and I just noticed that these things go through front tires! After "only" 45k miles, the fronts are almost at the wear bars but the rears have a lot of tread left (look new). I guess I should rotate tires every now and then...

The only "mods" are tinted windows, Tanabe Medalion Touring, and Scion wheels.

I thought I was the only one who has experienced this!

I wonder if the roads make a difference. I had a different FWD car when I lived in Orange County (and often drove to different places in LA and LA County) and experienced what you mention above. With my blue Yaris (only a few thousand of all of those miles = on the roads of Southern California) I've averaged 75k per set of 4 (except on two of those sets I squeezed that out of 3 not 4 tires re road hazard replacements)....but I have rotated them .

2010 3dr stick shift, just turned 189k.
rear wheel bearing @ 122k
rear brakes @ 162k, I use the hand brake every time I park so they wore out before the fronts. Front pads still look good.
Also had no cabin filter when purchased.
Change oil every 10k with full synthetic, and it's still good according to my UOA
Great little car and cheap to own, I traded in a VW TDI Sportwagen in on it, and glad I did. Only regret is that Toyota won't sell me a diesel Yaris in the USA.
