link?

237 are millionaires, not "over 250"
1 person makes over 250 million, not "5-7"

I agree there's a problem, but here's the devils advocate question: "why wouldn't you want someone who is 'good with money' in the congress? would you rather have a bunch of people on welfare?"

It isn't.
My modest contribution went out in the mail yesterday already.
It was the easiest check I've ever had to write.

http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...4&postcount=25

Red Cross donations amounts begin at $10 which is barely the cost of lunch around here. I know we have a lot of students on this board, but just think what the price of a couple of movie theater tickets can do if we all give.

If you don't like the Red Cross, there are many other organizations trying to help these poor people.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I think I'm gonna write another check and this reminds me I have to around my place and see if I can find usable stuff to give to shelters around here as well.

Do the right things guys.

sorry guys about the off-topic.

this will be off topic but it would've been much wiser (at least in this day/age) to text "HAITI" to 90999 and they would've tacked $10 on your phone bill once to send to them. safer/quicker and easier least when it compares to writing a check

...we'd have more money to help Haiti if we weren't nation building and propping up so many parts of the world...

Oh wait! Would rendering aid be considered "nation building"? To someone it would I suppose.

Hey Benngolf...why do you care about Pelosi? You're in Canada.

Hi Sqcomp. Someone sent me the info and I thought of sharing it. Although we are just your friendly neighbors to the north, we are also concerned on what goes on south of our border.

people like this should be well paid, for they have an important job, but i think $200k/yr should be the limit. how much money do people really need? as for the jet thing, that should be reserved for the president and other high security risk persons. others can fly 1st class and get driven in limos much much cheaper. why doesnt the idiot move to dc already? gah!

I think the exact opposite. Singapore has some of the highest paid public officials in the world, and there has been a direct correlation drawn to the reduction in corruption. I say pay them so much they can't be bought out.

Agreed about the pay, she deserves it, and compared to the menial, D-average, law-breakers getting paid millions to travel/run with the ball and chirp their sneakers, playing games for a living, it's a real bargain.

She is 3rd in command

if Obama and Biden cannot be president.

BIG responsibility. More than all of you combined can muster.

You think that being the 3rd most powerful person in the USA, is reason enough for her to get whatever access she needs to anything ? I think so.

After Obama, these are the most important people:

Order of Presidential Succession

* The Vice President Joseph Biden
* Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi
* President pro tempore of the Senate Robert Byrd
* Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton
* Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner
* Secretary of Defense Robert Gates
* Attorney General Eric Holder
* Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar
* Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack
* Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke
* Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis
* Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius
* Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Shaun Donovan
* Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood
* Secretary of Energy Stephen Chu
* Secretary of Education Arne Duncan
* Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki
* Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano
