I don't see how you could keep them in this situation, you'd have to shorten the bar. It looks adjustable but to what lentgh i'm wondering (the nut on the end of the bar at each end). I'll have to look at my belt when I get out of here. Depending on the width of the belt mount area it could just slip over it, but I highly doubt it.

Looks pretty high though, you'd have to have someone about 6' 5" to hit IMO. I'd swipe the pads off my sons huffy and wrap em around it, lol
