Godspeed. The current administration doesn't exactly need corrupt politicians right now.

I found it particularly hilarious how he tried to weasel his way out of this. "I did this... and this... and this... for the people of Illinois... blah blah blah."

Just because you do a few good things doesn't give you a right to do even one bad thing. Especially when it comes to being in a powerful government seat.

Gandhi wasnt great either....
I hate him from the bottom of my heart.

Because of him, so many ppl died. And every time he held a rally, he would be in the jail. His followers would get pwnd like there is no tomorow.... If Nathuram Ghodse shot him like 30 years earlier, india wouldve been independent like 30 years ago...

So I guess it's better to treat violence with more violence then... I mean, it's worked so well in the past, right?

Here's the best part of it: Because of the ridiculous things he decided to do with regards to his ousting, I'm willing to bet that he'll be getting some sort of six-figure book deal once the dust settles.

I'm with you tk, unfortunately violence seems to be a part of mankind. Punching someone in the nose seldom works to the benefit of either party, and war is just an extension of the punch in the nose.

Gandhi showed a new way to achieve a goal. Many societies reject that way, and prefer punching noses; how has it worked well? Even the US found that concentrating on their citizens' welfare was better for the US than starting a war...

Be happier if some of the methods used for "focusing on our welfare" weren't so damned violent themselves. For example, the two million people in jail in the US for drug offenses.

A lot of us want an end to meddling overseas. Have to wait.

How about his friends in Chicago? Any of them going to see any quality time behind bars or was this just piling the guilt onto one man's shoulders?

Agreed. He was fired because he got caught, not because he is corrupt. That's why there are no other heads rolling this time around.
