Exclamation SIMPLE AS HELL : SIMOTA CARBON CHARGER OR K&N PANEL?

Ok guys , after all the research online & EBAY and different tuning shops in the city and after i discarded buying the apexi / K&N short ram because of shipping costs
im down to 2 last things im left with :

1-K&N PANEL REPLACEMENT FILTER (65 USD)

2-Simota Carbon charger Intake system (110 USD)

the one above was done short ram (BTW , is eaxctly the same as mine)

this is the complete kit (above)

I know K&N is better filtration and preformance , but in the end its a panel filter :@
Simota on the other hand is Taiwan  buts its a cone filter enclosed in a carbon casing against heat with a pipe exactlty factory made for the yaris

For those who didnt see my other topic , my Car is a toyota yaris sedan 1.3 L - Engine 2NZ-FE

I dont know. I find alot of people telling me to get the K&N panel , because i wont change a thing , and its better quality and that the coldest air ill

get would be from my airbox since im in a hot country , and that the airbox is restrictive only when horse power exceed 200 HP and they also say the

that the rubber material used in the simota piping degrades with time and melts down ?

I know both filters wont make a big differnece in poer but i still cant make up my mind

I've been a Simota dealer for three and a half years here in the U.S. and
never heard of a coupling 'melting' or degrading.

yep, I've had a simota setup in my car for 2 years+ now, in a hot country too, and surem the rubber is not really clean and shiny anymore, but it does not seem degraded in any way

I like the K&N replacement, it looks nice and stock and if you want to make some noise you ca always make some holes in the bottom half of your intake box. if reliability is your concern the K&N filter will let you keep all your toyota oem intake parts which will handle the heat just fine.

Mine has not degraded and is still clean and shiny. Sometimes you got to pull a little maintenance on the motor other that lift the hood and say "it's still there". All rubber degrades over time and the heat generated in the engine compartment speeds up the process. A clean and treat slows that way down.
