Without hesitation, the Honda CRX.

I had this one:

http://www.dragtimes.com/Honda-Civic...lip-10203.html

the HF (fuel efficiency model) , 5 sp.

I wish Honda hadn't discontinued the CRX model. What a fun car that was.

By the way ...

Sorry, I've been dying to use that thing for a while ;)

^ well, you asked ! lol

BTW, I drove the Renault 5 (stock) a long time ago. She wasn't the sportiest but pretty responsive and fun to drive. Kind of like a first gen. Honda Civic (the little box).

I loved my little four-speed Nissan Sentra coupe-1983.
But it was hardly a performance car. Of those available in the
U.S. I'd have to pick the Nissan Z cars or the Mazda RX-7.

Gotta go with the CRX or the Rabbit (diesel), too!

Here in the States we had the Renault LeCar- Think the R5 with out the turbo and the body kit. The car would visibly rust at stop lights. With all the emission hardware, it made the fun to drive R5 slower than a yugo with 3 flats, although when you got up to speed, the wind would whistle "Vive le France" through the rust holes

The Toyota Corolla 1.6 GTi.

My parents did have a Toyota Corolla 1.3 though but what a smooth ride that was.
All those European shitty cars then (now too) were much slower.
A lot of VW Golfs and Opel Kadetts with much bigger engines were so slow that even my dad pulled the young car owners off at traffic lights.
The car had a much more modern styling and a way higher quality.
But thats nowadays an well known fact too
