Toyota...They dont have anything that I want...

I posted a thread few days ago saying that i ordered the Yaris CE...but I had to wait till the end of May, which was fine with me.

Today, my sales called me saying that the order for Yaris CE is full till June, and I have to wait for my car after August...but my corolla lease end at the end of July...I have to have a car to go to work...

So, I asked him to check if they have 3dr RS in stock, he said no, what about 5dr RS? NO. THEY HAVE NOTHING!

So he convince me to get a 5dr LE, and I finally accept it... sigh....wth...

Just because I want the red color is it that hard to get?? :(

so sad.....

I have used CarsDirect.com for my last two cars...2002 Jeep Liberty and 2008 Yaris LB. They do all the checking with the various dealers and call me when they find one.

The Toyota dealership closest to where I work had 15 Yarii hatchbacks in stock as of last Friday...nine three-doors and six five-doors. Of course, you'd have to drive to Texas to check them out...

Cheers! M2

They wont do a dealer trade for you because the profit in the yaris is a "mini" Usually only 100 dollar commission for the salesman. Not worth thier time. And the sales profit on the yaris is next to nothing even if you pay the asking price. It is the same for any entry level car. Which is why they always try to push you into a corolla or a camry. Which is how you can get a corolla for a simular yaris for the same price. They would just really rather sell you a corolla theres more in it for them.

That makes sense.

The local dealership did that to me, tried selling me an auto Matrix ($$$) instead of the manual Yaris ($) I had come to buy. The guy was telling me during the entire test drive how unimpressive the Yaris is, basically it's a piece of sh.t, shouldn't be allowed on the freeway... we drove back to the dealership and I left without a car. Couldn't believe the guy talked me out of buying the Yaris. I bought another Yaris at a different dealership eventually.

A successful salesman gets their customer what the customer wants and doesn't have to sell them anything.

That's my Dads motto and he consistently makes top salesman and all the benefit dinners Toyota flies their top people to.

On the Yaris and the Scions you have to go and check dealer stock yourself. Fortunately for me there are 2 dealers near my work, 2 near my in-laws, and 1 near home.
Over a month's time, I had a chance to check them all.

It may not be so bad now, but when they were in high demand a year ago, I found that the dealer websites were not up to date with what they actually had on the lot. It's best to go and cruise by the lot in person. The websites were just good to indicate which dealers have manual LBs and which have mostly auto sedans.

Unfortunately for such a low margin vehicle you have to do your own legwork. It may be worth it though. I am very happy with both our Yaris and XB.

I checked 2 dealers before I ordered it, and they both showed me the online inventory within Canada....nth in red...both told me I had to wait till around August...only 5dr LE available ... They told me Red is not in high demand, so most dealers won't order them. + I want the top package...C I think? Because I don't want to die because I only have 2 air bags....lol

That guy walked away with no side air bags, and that was getting T-boned by a bronco. Pretty much in the 90th percentile for the tallest most solid front end for passenger vehicles. Stop worrying about unrealistic testing conditions.

I'm not surprised about the lack of RS, I've never seen one as stock in a dealer inventory...

There are also different grades of dealerships, some have more access to inventory over others...

Cheers
