Buy a car based on the fact that YOU like it. If you buy a car seeking external gratification then you'll never be fully pleased with your car.

I love my Yaris, but I've gotten to know my dealer's service staff very well lately:



I'm just poking fun. My problem hasn't caused me to be stranded, and my dealer has provided excellent service. No complaints here...

Exactly, these sorts of things are for reference to help shape your decisions, not to make them for you. I owned 2 BMW's and put no more money into them for maintenance then I had to for the Toyota's or Honda I've had. IMO; not to say there aren't any lemons; a big part of reliability is how you drive and take care of the vehicle yourself.

Interesting. I owned a Volvo and a Saab and put way more money into maintenance and repairs for them than I ever have for this Toyota or three different Hondas I used to own. I took care of them just as well, too.
