OEM is 195/50/16, so either of the sizes you mention would work. With stock suspension, 205's work very well.
However, I'd hesitate installing 205's with ET35 on most YW cars; it makes for a bit of a sloppy "American fitment" up front without suspension mods... which most YW members won't even consider.
For most 16" applications, I would recommend 195's with ET38-40; and 205's with ET42 or greater.
