Garmin Nuvi 255W
Got it 2 weeks ago from Amazon for $133. It just got the best reviews. So far I mostly have positive impressions. Overall a GPS navigation is a technological marvel.

Hard to beat the places screen. I felt like visiting a museum and was directed to an aviation museum in Lancaster. It was cool.

tomato, i have the one pictured above you're post, but in black :P

It hasn't failed me. I use GPS when going to new locations around night time. During the day I dont use it, this car doesn't waste much gas going in circles anyways~

Garmin and most GPS will fail in the Santa Cruz mountain areas...i tell you this from experience in a friends car O_O

I´ve got a TomTom GO 940 LIVE with integrated GPRS modem for any kind of traffic warnings. Its even possible to use Google or weather forecast and so on.

Same with my Go 740, and don't forget that you can get the relatively correct gas prices for the area you're in...

I use my MyTouch (like Pk just without the actual keyboard) and use the google maps app has turn by turn with speech to text, street names are spoken (albeit some of the names are too funny sounding coming out of it) traffic updates, (it has what google calls layers, different things can be added to enhance the map)

:D

Motorola Droid (sold my Garmin after I got the Droid).

Nothing beats Google maps navigation.

- voice activated (just say address or place name)
- numerous layers (shows regular graphic maps or satellite views and can show traffic conditions )
- shows actual 3D photograghy of root and destination (with 360 rotation)
- has full Google search integrated so any info about anything can be brought up about destinations, businesses, ect.
-and so much more...

It's not the antenna. The roads up there aren't shown on the GPS. It just shows on the GPS you are in the air lol. All terrain trail going up the single lane mountain. My friend and I were going to a cabin party and ended up on the wrong mountain. We ran out of gas, and luckily bumped into a cabin owner that gave us half a gallon of gas to get back down and go to nearest gas station. we finally got on the right mountain, going up we got lost, two dogs surround our car...what a night ~_~

Not all of us like Crackberries or are on Verizon (which person I've had nothing but trouble with, and will never have another phone with).

The TomTom I have (740) does a whole lotta POI's, and I use that feature frequently.
