While I would never do that it does remind me of what my dad does after work. He works installing new sewer lines sometimes and also in special construction projects. He does use the garden hose if he has something like concrete or grease on his pants before he puts them in the washing machine.

probably a construction worker or some guy in the trades. Doesn't want to bring home the dirt.

Maybe he's a plumber ? then I can't blame the wife if she sent him to the car wash

I can atest to how dirty you can become on a construction site. I used to do inspections. I remember a particularly warm day in March a few years ago...

*flashback* The ground was still frozen, but due to the high temps of the day, the frost melted to a lovely "baby-shit" mud consistency (roughly about 4-5" thick covering the ground). By the end of the day, my boots were completely covered, and I had mud caked on my pants up to just below my knee. I went home and used the garden hose prior to even removing my pants. And even then, left them sitting in a bucket of water outside for awhile (changing the water frequently) *end of flashback*
