Right... What I was getting at is I would not worry about close ratios if I had Tq. But the car is geared to tall on its own no matter the output, you got to do something to pep it up. The FD is the quick and easy shot that gets you most of the way there.

Wait, since when does a full teardown and rebuild of a transmission fall into "quick" or "easy"?
