I fitted a couple of Wolo horns this afternoon. O'reilly Auto Parts carries them in high and low tone. Together they seem to put out some noise. I tried recording it but under my carport the stock one sounded louder in the recording even though in person the two Wolos sound louder.
The two Wolos were $10 each, so $20 for two units. |

I'd guess that they're too loud, causing the mic input to clip. I went with a pair of FIAMM snails from NAPA--one high, one low--and it's a nice improvement. That said, I had to wire in a separate power lead, relay and fuse from the battery because of the increased amperage draw. The advantage of the paired kits like Hela Supertones is that they're made from a pair of 6V horns (motorcycle?) so they can be run in series to reduce amp draw and don't require extra wiring.
