I can't build a box for cheaper than what Sonic sells boxes for.

You could get this one and add your own 3"x5"-long port tube.

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...CK-CARPET.html

It would be very close to recommended specs for your sub.

( You lookin` for a HU? Go Pioneer! )

Well anyways what are yall thoughts on the pros and cons of each enclosure, which do you prefer, and what are you currently using in your systems.
In my simple way of looking at them:

Sealed
... Nice but need more power! small box, consider aiming

Vented... Nice but bigger and consider aiming

Bandpass... Nice and exotic, harder to build and much bigger

Which one I prefer?... depends on the application, space and subwoofer... If built right and provide a good signal is going to sound GREAT!

What m'I using right now... small 6.5" subwoofer in a ported box of 0.34cf and 2" Dia. 15" long vent, see pictures below:

@Derick

that is one nice looking box, and it doesn't seem to take too much legroom either. i unfortunately don't have the patience or skill to build something as good as that.

Believe it or not it's very easy to build, if I did it anybody can! and you are close enough to listen to it if you like.

I also say get a Pioneer HU, why I'm big fan of Pioneer.
