You should use the windscreen mount so that it's easier to see when you are using it, and driving around with the glovebox open is a bit weird. Then you can very easily detach it and hide it in your glove box when you park.

But I gotta admit, the Pioneer AVIC-D3 looks just so sweet... Navigation is probably useless here if they don't have Thailand maps, but just for the looks (and red lighting), I may swap mine out

It sounds a little weird to drive with the glovebox open, but I have tried it and I dont even notice it. Having the windshield mount is a magnet to thieves. I just got used to the Navi in my Civic, so I'm hooked on NAvi now. I heard Garmin is coming out with a 5inch Nuvi late in the Year, maybe I'll wait for that.
